Questions & Troubleshooting for ZBrush 2018

Is Sculptris Pro only available in ZBrush or is it also available in ZBrush Core?
And will there be an update of Sculptris?

I’ve done the ā€œemail trickā€ and I still haven’t’ received an email. I even deactivated my 4R8 and reactivated it to see if would reset something but still nothing ha.

How do you set a custom quicksave folder? There doesn’t appear to be an option within the quicksave options.

So this is where all the did not get 2018ers are hiding out. I just got removed from the Main thread of zb worship crowd. Never been made to feel like this before on launch day.
Email, no, email, wrong email, nope I can see my license. Must have created this situation myself? I think not guys. Really it’s all our own fault.
I’m on some launch day naughty list?

Their servers must be bogged down with all the traffic.

I didn’t even get the option to select a license to upgrade, just took me straight to the ā€œLicense Not foundā€ page, no checkbox or anything. Guess i’ll try again tomorrow, or see if an email comes through

Make sure to disable any antivirus software that you have running. Even Windows Defender, believe it or not. Then try installing again. If it still won’t install, you’ll have to download yet again but this time make sure to do so without antivirus software on.

I had a rather small poly model. 12k. Used sculptris pro for the first time, got to the point where it said sculptris pro has a max memory usage, increase it in preferences:mem. But we will get back to that later.
editing it and than used tesseimate. Big holes appeared (it’s a cake so this shouldn’t be too high for my system to handle) 64gb of mem 6850 i7 12 core… tried to undo. Undid the tessimated model. Still the holes were there. Opened the file again worked with sculptris pro with a medium setting and tessimate same… Same thing happened. Changed settings in brush and poly size along with working with the settings for tessimation. still same issue. What is going on?
back to the first question there is no preferences:mem so what do I do now?

Also, be sure to read the documentation for Sculptris Pro (it’s in your Documentation folder in the ZBrush 2018 installation). There are really good tips there for working with the feature, especially pertaining to memory use.

I keep getting a message mid way though installing Zbrush2018, I even tried ā€œrun as adminā€ and got the same error message

yup that was mine too !!! i am redownloading but expensive usage of download data !!!

Upgraded to 2018 no problem. Loving it so far (well, I can’t see that changing!).

I just have one minor annoying little ā€œbugā€ to report (may or may not be, though). At the column of buttons first to the right of the main view panel I am missing two and a half buttons at the bottom. See screenshot here. I have no idea as to how to get those to show up.

It’s due to your display resolution, which isn’t quite enough for the entire UI to display like normal. You may also have trouble with certain parts of the ZModeler brush disappearing off the top of the canvas.

You may be able to fix this by reducing the Preferences >> Interface >> UI >> Buttons Size slider.

Edit: Yes, I did find this eventually. It took a few tries at guessing and restarting ZB but got it in the end.

I have both the new serial for 2018 and the old for 4r8. I provided the 4r8 serial to Matthew. Do I need to provide both?

It’s not gone from your queue. It’s now in the ā€œView Resolved Ticketsā€ section, which lists everything to which we have replied or that has been closed. When you reply to it, it will return to the regular queue.

Either serial number will be fine. Plus one of the other two requested items.

Am I seriously the only person getting the error ā€œInvalid request parametersā€ when I try to login to activate from inside ZBrush 2018?

I did get a new Key for ZBRUSH 2018, so it shows up along with my ZBrush 4 license there are the same page. 2 different numbers…just never received an email to download. Started a support ticket at 3:32 pm central time. I do have more than one email linked to my account because i keep them there to back me up just incase. Did that cause problems for anyone? Did we have to have just one email? No word but I understand they are real busy with problems. No worries.

Oh yeah, and I take it from the update on the first page that I SHOULD NOT click on ā€œUpgrade to Zbrush 2018ā€ again on the My Licenses page or it will cause more problems? Correct? Cause that button looks like I could hit it again.

EDIT 8:38am Central 8/29/2018: My support ticket still shows as ā€œUnassignedā€ from yesterday at around 4:30pm Central. I do have the correct email associated with my account, I generated a new Serial Number, no email is in my Spam folders or Inbox ever. Is this just a case of they are totally overwhelmed with problems? Just checking, things go like that sometimes. Just I dont wanna be an @$$hat just to get a reply of some sort. HA. I believe I have had my version since 2008? Maybe? 2009? Bought through safeHarbor at the time but that has LOOOOOng passed and been updated. Work has one group of floating licenses and about 18+ single licenses all linked to one email. They of course wont update til I get a ticket in to test and approve this version but maybe we should wait awhile. Only problem is Freelancers that do get it to work with be sending us files and no backwards compatibility changes right? Still wont open backwards in older versions with this new version? Alright…just waiting…patiently. :slight_smile: Have a good day!

UPDATE: I did get a reply earlier today, but was asked to send proof of my identity. I figured since I am logged into the cue and starting a ticket that that means I am me? I guess it is because when I got rid of ATT for Google Fiber I tried changing my email address myself (this is just me trying to figure it out) because I was worried I would lose access to my ATT email address and would always have the Google one. Apparently that caused a huge ā€œWe encountered a problem (cross-site request forgery detected); please try againā€ when I just tried to change it back. My login was still the ATT email but apparently it was not listed as an email address anymore since I tried changing it my self to the GMail only along with my work Email as a secondary one. So this probalby all my fault. Maybe tomorrow?

I installed zbrush2018 and in the loading screen I get this message a corrupt liscense has been detected or your computer’s unique id has changed locking zbrush. please help me get zbrush 2018 running thanks

I upgraded my serial number to 2018 around 12:15 pm PST - no problems there. I haven’t received an email with a download link.

Is there a general link I can go to download the software? Or is this some personalized link? How do I get the software if I don’t get an email?

It is a personalized link that was emailed to you. Check your junk and spam folders, as well as other folders such as the Promotions section of the Gmail inbox. If you can’t find it anywhere, submit a Support ticket and we’ll resend it to you.

Anyone else getting frequent crashes when using Sculptress pro? I am getting crashes pretty much after I save, but sometimes just when I click outside of zbrush, and click back. Other times it just seems to happen periodicly for no reason.

Try going to Preferences >> Performance and reducing the Max Threads slider to half what your computer can support. Save the preferences and then restart ZBrush. Does the problem persist?
