ZAppLink 4: great!!

But: I can’t get it to work properly. When I follow the instructions and activate Zapplink it opens Photoshop and then opens an empty document. Nothing in it. I can draw in it, and transfer it back to Zbrush with no effect at all.

What am I missing here?

It started crashing zbrush.
A funny unpredictable behavior. Sorry.

I’m running it on a mac. It correctly sends to photoshop, I click save and then nothing happens on zbrush’s end.

What could be wrong?

Sometimes it works sometime not. When you return to PS it says that should update the image, say no, save as, and this time return to zb by cmd + tab.
Its a bug, fix this please.

Is there a way to jump to paintstop like this? I missed something here?

Michialis: when you come back to ZBrush you can ask ZBrush to force the update, to avoid this problem which happen before this update.
If you go back in ZBrush and even by forcing the update you have nothing, it’s because you didn’t save in Photoshop.

Running Zbrush4 and Photoshop7 on Windows Vista.

It seems to be a bug. On the mac build. OSX 10.5.8., 10.6.4

Simply press the PaintStop button with a mesh in Edit mode. When exiting PaintStop you will have the option to projection paint on to the model.

Hi all!
I just got some problems when use the Zapplink.
Everything is good, only if use the pen tool in photoshop!
I saved the document,and I’m sure the middle layer named ‘layer 1’,and I go back to Zbrush,but it doesn’t show the ‘Re Enter Zbrush’ dialogbox.
Just tried a number of times,every time didn’t show the ‘Re Enter Zbrush’ dialogbox,and when use some other tools in photoshop like the brush tool or marquee tool,everything is fine. How could this happen?

Hi there, may be someone can help me: every time ZApplink sends the temp file to Photoshop, and Photoshop tries to open it it crashes. I have tried opening the temp psd file directly with Photoshop and the app crashes too. It does not happen when I open it with Corel Painter 9. I have Mac Spanish Photoshop installed in my Mac running with Snow Leopard. I think it has to be something related with the psd file generated by ZB4 Zapplink that Photoshop does not understand and crashes.

anyone else getting really bad artifacts when painting to a texture? I have been running into the same problems with 3dcoat’s projection painting so I was super excited to see you could paint to a texture with zapplink. Looks like it’s just a problem with projection painting in general maybe?

Tried making it work, but it crashed CS5. Switched to CS4 and the same…

Switched the new plugin for the old beta, and now the beta that “used to work,” crashes CS5 again!

Worse than the Beta! It took me a while to make the Beta work - I upgraded to CS5, and I had a 35% chance of it working…

And now, I have a 100% guaranty that I can’t use ZApplink!

Are there specific settings/configurations we should use?

32-Bit Vs, 64-Bit?

CS4 or CS5?

4GB memory not enough?

Not for laptops?

Not for Macs?

Permissions?

Specific shoes I should wear?

Adobe Photoshop CS4 32-Bit (Intel)
Adobe Photoshop CS5 64-Bit (Intel)

100% pure, unadulterated frustration with this plugin… This blows my pipeline, and my motivation to use ZBrush, honestly… All I want to do, is to model, sculpt, paint my work, that’s all…

I have tried with CS2, CS4 and CS5 and three of them crashed, in OSX. :qu: :qu: :qu:

BTW it works with CS3 on MAC OSX, an issue here though.

For those of you which have the crash issue and/or blank please, open a ticket at the support. This problem seems to be very specific to some users and we try to find a solution. Currently, we can’t reproduce it on our side.

The plugin doesn’t work for me. I set the path to start with Maya 2009 (Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2009\bin\maya.exe) but within Maya it doesn’t create the shell with the GoZ icon! :confused:

I tried to delete the Pref folder to and start a fresh Maya, but still won’t work…

Please help! :cry:

I’ve downloaded and installed the update and I’m still getting the ‘Sorry, the multiview mode is not supported in this beta version!’ dialogue every time I try to launch zApplink (after storing multiple views, as per userguide instructions). I am running OSX 10.5.8 on a Macbook Pro…
