REGISTRATION INFO
When I tried to register, I got the following message :“This page is only for users who would like to activate the Windows version of ZBrush 3.5”. What do I do?
This message appears when attempting to activate ZBrush 3.5 using a serial number from a previous version. You must use the ZBrush 3.5 serial number that was emailed to you after upgrading. There is no need to keep a record of any previous serial numbers, as those versions are no longer supported.

Is there an installer for ZBrush 3.5?
ZBrush 3.5 is a self-contained folder which simply needs to be unzipped and placed in your preferred location (usually in the folder where you have 3.1 and other applications installed)
Can’t launch ZBrush 3.5 ?
When launching ZBrush 3.5 for the first time, you may get the following warning…“This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.” Alternatively, you might receive a “side-by-side configuration” error. If you get either warning then you’ll need to launch the vcredist.exe file that is included within the ZBrush3.5\Troubleshoot Help folder. This is a Microsoft installer which installs windows functions that are missing in your system.
Can I install plugins that were created for older versions of ZBrush ?
Plugins created for 3.1 or older, are not compatible with 3.5. By using older plugins, you may get unexpected behavior, please wait for the updated plugins.When they are ready they will be posted in here at ZBC.
Flatten Brush in version 3.5 feels different than in version 3.1 ?
To set the brush to be identical to version 3.1, set the Brush/Depth/sampling value to .75 and save the brush in the ZStartup/Brush Presets folder.
Note: Try the brush with or without the “buildup” option in Brush palette
Note: The functionality of the “Mod” slider in 3.1 is now controlled by the Imbed value (which is now a property of all brushes).
How do I create Displacement/Normal/Texture maps from HD geometry ?
It’s automatic. When you have HD geometry, creating Displacement Map, Normal Map, and PolyPaint Maps will automatically extract high definition details from the HD geometry.
Note: To extract HD PolyPaint, you need to be in the highest subdivision level of your base mesh, if you are in any lower subdivision level, the PolyPaint will be extracted from the active level, not from HD.
How can I modify the strength of the Smooth brush ?
You can modify the strength of the smooth brush by modifying its curve profile.
Example…
Hold SHIFT key (to activate smooth brush) and the set the focal shift value (in Brush/Curve/Edit Curve) to -100.
[color=#999999] How can get the “Move Brush” to move points in the Normal direction?
The Move brush has three modes in ZBrush 3.5.
1. Click and drag to move in screen space, left/right/up/down.
2. Click then Hold SHIFT key and drag to move along the Normal direction.
3. Click then Hold ALT key and drag to move along the surface.
What is the Auto Recovery feature?
It’s a new feature which is activated when, for one reason or another, ZBrush has crashed. At this stage ZBrush will attempt to save the currently select tool and document to the recovery folder. This feature is OFF by default because it is not compatible with all windows configurations at this time (it is not recommended for Windows 7).

I have a ZBrush Mac license and have received the ZBrush 3.5 for Windows upgrade email , can I use it to upgrade to ZBrush 3.5 for Windows?
Mac users - who received temporary Windows license while waiting for ZBrush 3 to be released for the Macintosh - may receive an upgrade link for ZBrush 3.5 Windows. If you are a Mac user who has not purchased a Windows ZBrush license, do not use the upgrade link that was emailed to you. Doing so will prevent you from being able to upgrade your Mac license when ZBrush 3.5 is released for the Macintosh.
If the previous paragraph applies to you, please submit a ticket at http://support.pixologic.com so that we can clear the Windows license off your account and re-activate your Mac license. Do this whether or not you have redeemed the upgrade.
