Presenting ZBrush 4R7 (Updated with Summit Recaps)

Or say “wow, this was so worth the wait.”

Do you think Pixologic is going to sell ZBrush 4R6 lower price before releasing 4R7? I was just thinking because many other companies sell their products lower price before christmas like Next Limit, The Foundry etc.

But it’s all good. Every day we wait bugs are being fixed and tutorials are being planned and prepared. Personally if I had the program now I probably wouldn’t drop everything I’m doing and start tinkering with the new features anyway. If I have a choice between setting off early on a voyage or waiting for a map I’ll usually wait for the map.

I just fear that it appears while I’m away and miss the cheap Keyshot bundle.

StuPot -> I don’t know, I think half the adventure is exploring on one’s own and charting new territory. However, in keeping with your voyage theme, I would liken it closer to the boat/ship rather than setting off early vs having a map. In MOST cases, I’m sure many of us would rather set sail in a boat we could trust, in comparison to a ship that may not be completed or leaky and hole-filled. I, for one, would rather set sail aboard a ship that is more likely to reach my destination than a ship that might sink halfway there because of a lack of completion or holes (software bugs.)

But I totally get what you are saying, why rediscover lands that have already had paths forged into them.

Those other companies have also not given out free upgrades since Day One. :stuck_out_tongue:

No, there will be no price reductions before the release of 4R7. After all, 4R7 will be a free upgrade.

When a company discounts the old version it’s because they’re hoping you’ll pay at some point to upgrade to the new version. That doesn’t apply here. And Christmas sales don’t work out to be such a good value when you save $100 to drop $350 on an upgrade a few months later.

Church!

Can’t wait to start messing with the new features in R7. Gonna have to save some coin for KeyShot though. Something came to mind recently as it dawned on me that ZBrush has changed coarse a bit with the Keyshot bridge coming out. Seems like the right move with Keyshot handling high density Geo from ZBrush. I wonder if Pixo’s development will gear towards doing it all within ZBrush. The tools are in place for quality rendering and postwork. There are even some animation tools that can be utilized. With the new Q-mesh features we will be doing the hard surface work without leaving ZBrush.

Will we be able to generate multi render, multi layer image stacks at some point and edit those layers within ZBrush??? Will ZBrush’s rendering system develop into what Keyshot is capable of and beyond??? Will there be further development of the 2D painting system that is already in place??? Will we see Subtool groups???

-8 guys!!!
it’ s coming :D:D

anyone notice pixologic home page is missing ,what is happening

yeah it’s:roll_eyes: a sign!!!

it’s a fake…

How ZBrush work for an industrial designer? Is there any designers here? I’ve tried ZBrush and I like it alot, even I know just the basics - GUI is quite a head scrather. I know how to sculpt organic stuff but what really intrests me is hard surface modeling. I have Modo 701 and Rhino 4.0 but I’m very interested to buy ZBrush because it seems to be somewhere between 3d modeling and 2d sketching - it could be useful to me. Can you recommend ZBrush for industrial designer. I’m sooooo close to buy a copy.

I just couldn’t wait any longer - I bought it!

Your gonna love it Jack!

I’m not sure about finding the numeric precision you’ll need for industrial design, but GoZing between zBrush and Modo should make that aspect fairly seamless for you.

Good luck and fun learning how to fly that UFO ( All those alien controls to figure out  )

lol…You will not regret it jack. think of it as sketching but in 3D. 4r7 will have more cooler tool so it win, win.

Hi Jack…

Wise move… I still use Modo and a quick tip, 1m in Modo equals 1mm in ZBrush… I learnt the hard way as I do a bit of jewellery… lets hope measurements are a feature in 4.7 or later 5… but none the less… both great programs…

Go For It… Enjoy!

Excellent Choice Jack! You won’t regret it one bit! :+1:

Goddamn this is great! I don’t know why I did wait so long. :sunglasses:

-7 until the 21 dec…it’ comingcoming xzbruzmas!!
