Presenting ZBrush 4R7 (Updated with Summit Recaps)

Want to put my money down on the new opportunity offer from zbrush selling keyshot and bridge for $250. When will this happen, can we be put on a list?

Those questions have already been answered countless times.

This thread has completely changed to a negative place… I receive email updates HOPING it’s positive INSIGHT or answers to QUESTIONS asked…

But all I get and SEE is… Quick responses ONLY to BASH others or tell someone to shut UP

You guys may wanna TAKE 5 minutes to think about HOW helpful your comment IS before POSTING it! This isn’t HIGH SCHOOL, I’m an adult with children and a career.

I would appreciate some positive feedback about ZB4R7’s progress… I realize everyone is entitled to respond however they please, but it would be great to see a little bit more CONSIDERATION for others.

Cheers

It looks to me that the forum members are passing the time having a bit of fun while they await the goodies of 4R7, that’s all.

I get it, waiting sucks, but please try and understand that creating new software is not an easy process. If Pixologic could release a finished 4r7 today, I’m sure they would. Even in jest, saying things like “You guys suck” is really not needed, it is hard enough having to optimize a piece of software, these people don’t need added stress. As I said about a week ago, continuing to voice frustration on the forum is not going to make 4r7 come out any faster, if anything it is just added stress onto the talented people that are trying very hard to finish it.

I didn’t want to take the time to post again about this, but I keep seeing people complaining. I want this software update to come out just as much as the next person, but there is nothing I can do about it to make to release any faster.

these new low poly modelling features look awesome, and i’m very excited about the new update!
but if the UV editor hasn’t seen much improvement, i will still have to go back and fourth between a lot of different software packages, even for the simplest of game assets. it would be nice to be able to create and export static mesh FBX assets using only zbrush, with lightmap UVs and materials with blending masks in some kind of GOZ for UE4.

Zbrush is my favorite software package, and Pixologic is my favorite software company. these years of free updates are the best deal i have ever gotten on anything. so even though everything about Zbrush is awesome, here is a list of features that i would love to see in future zbrush updates:

layer folders
subtool folders
goZ UE4
FBX import/export
PBR materials export
particle effect brushes
landscape blending materials
erosion simulation
cloth simulation
metal crushing simulation
wood splintering simulation
hair physics simulation
flow map painting tools
more control over UV unwrapping
more control over spline twisting
world location and grid snapping controls
open source git hub subscription development

To add to your list I’d LOVE to see cloth draping simulation.
Some improvements to the projection tool too.

I’m patient. I’m excited but I’m patient!

you guys are really asking for a lot

Just dreaming. Nothing wrong with that!

Hi ZBee’s the right way to request a functions would be to send a ticket request as Aurick has pointed out to me in this thread, I did so and the team came back quick and professionally.

On a second positive note - CTN is happening this weekend and do you really believe that Pixologic will attend with just the old videos? Who knows maybe a release? But we will get something…

Stop pondering and get to work, hone your skill which can only improve with the things to come…

Have a great weekend…

I don’t know if anybody else has noticed the increase in companies releasing free versions of their packages with minor omissions? Especially for the hobbyist/indie.

Nuke, Fusion 7, Renderman etc

or 2/3 license versions of their software Pro/Indie/Student

I was just wondering if ZB5 may go down the same route, if the generous free updates cease. Might increase users or reduce those using snide/pirated software.

Just a thought.

Anyway good luck Pixo. at the CTN2014. Being on the other side of the pond, hope to see some vids for those who can’t attend.

Kind Regards

That was a really helpful. Thanks. Thanks. Thanks.!!!

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand now? Merry X???

Totally agree, they should wait until about three weeks after Christmas.
Period of extreme cold and snow, just right for learning the new version.
Would be a waste of time to issue it now.

I don’t see how they can go to CTN Animation Expo 2014, and do a demo, and lectures with out a mention of zbrush 4r7. I am not saying they will release it this weekend, but they will talk about it and show it.

Can’t speak for anyone else but would love to see a ‘Time for Art’ video published showing 4r7 to the sounds of Two Steps From Hell;)

would be soooooo cool!

Came across this on Twitter, by Ofer Alon https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3fQG0FzVAU

One giant leap for Mankind !!!

Made me laugh out loud. Consider the possibilities-- I’m dizzy right now!

I don’t know if it was just the speed of the video, but I am dizzy at the prospect of all this now!
