Portrait of Scarlett Johansson

Zeth09: “wow as in i cant believe the ZBC community has turned to such crap”
you’re being a bit harsh here…out of four pages of comments, only one or two can actually be considered offending…all the others sound pretty flattering or constructive to me…
Putting a judgement on such a great community after reading one post isnt a constructive way to approach comments to my opinion…

Just my two cents, not trying to start an argument or anything, but well, i had to day something to this.

back to this great piece, i still would like to see the wireframe, so i can put it in my inspiration folder

wonderful…great work… bravoo

Thank you, and ditto.

Yeah, it has absolutely no use a digital double of a famous actor…

Maybe you can get a job for Black Eyed Peas or a print on Wired magazine
Or maybe someone needs a digital double of a younger Jeff Bridges…

It looks like digital doubles are more requested in the industry than you can think…

Regarding the sculpt, i think the eyes are the best part: they are deep and lifelike: are they most CG or are heavily photoshopped?
I find quite disturbing the exaggerated bump on his skin and the deep wrikles on his lips… it’ a common mistake for zbrush artist to exaggerate bumps anf details, and while this is good for old guys, a beautiful girl needs a subtler level of detail.

Congrats for the top row, i hope to see more works from you soon.

The hair, the eyelashes, the eyes, they are all great.

Well I hope nobody is too upset with my comments. I just gave my honest opinion. And I just dont think its cool to use photos like that and not even mention it. If you dont show your process or wire frames why not just use photoshop to piece everything together?..I get that it takes skill of course I just dont find it very artistic. But again thats just what I think. My words have zero to do with being jealous as I often comment on all the works in here I love.

I see now where the artist mentioned his use of PS so my bad there.

OKE!

Let’s all stop our whining…oke…?

Sculpt is good, although I think the pores are a little too strong

That is really nice! :+1:

Extraordinary. Don’t touch a thing.

Great work, man. Agree on the specular of the skin need to be lowered and personally I think her eyes stare a bit frantic - maybe relax it a bit?

Thats my 5 cents - good stuff :+1:

abe: yea i think i raged a bit :stuck_out_tongue: my apologies keep up the good work everyone!

Don’t understand the function of figurative art? That’s a very impolite and misleading statement. I suggest doing a little research on the Muslims’ contribution to the arts.

Congrats on your work. Best of luck. Keep zbrushing.

was only one question, without bad intention :grimacing:

amazing … i’m curious to see whats the basemesh like !!

Again, GREAT JOB and a well deserved TOP ROW.

Good for you.

Not the first time a work of art has generated some heated debates

dont mention it, is my own talent, debate

Yeesh, I can’t believe all the debate and griping on this thread. So what if he pulled the hair from a Photo? Account for the fact (which he was mostly upfront about (he could have been a little more transparent in the original post about it being derived from a photo rather than hand painted)) when making your conclusions about the skills he’s exhibiting and don’t let it distract you from the great work that’s being shown.

For those who say the skin is too bumpy - try applying a sss skin shader to it and realistic lighting and you’ll find that it is totally appropriate. EVERYONE has a lot more imperfections in their skin than are immediately apparent, including models with seemingly clear skin (try getting your hands on some detailed 3D head scans (or images thereof), and non-photoshop’ed really high res images of a models face to see what I mean). Realistic lighting plus sss (and an appropriate spec map) will smooth those details out appropriately. It has also been my experience that bumps appear more prominent in Zbrush than they actually are (although that may be a function of the matcap I usually work with (matcap grey)) - try viewing some bumps in profile sometime and see if they actually protrude from the surface as much you thought they did when you viewed them head on. I’ve been surprised at times to find that they definitely did not. I lean toward exaggerating the appearance of such bumps (relative to my own flawed perceptions) in order to compensate for all the above points.

@Ahmad Ramadan - Nice work, and I’d like to encourage you to try doing some more renders (try maya or other non-zbrush package, using mental ray, vray or something) in an effort to nail a realistic look, and don’t forget to add a spec map. I’d like to see how it turns out.

Fantastic likeness …!:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:
