Polaroid29's Sketchbook Of Sorts

@Senka thanks! :slight_smile:

@Bio good to hear from you! hope all is well.

Have been way too busy to post lately, but pretty soon I’ll have some fun big updates :). Until then, here’s a quick new render of my gal:

Hey hey guys, haven’t had much time to post as I just finished an amazing workshop with Bryan Wynia, but here is some new work from me :slight_smile:

My take on the Yeti legend. I gave it worn eagle feathers to represent battered age and wisdom, while the horns and strong gorilla face represent power. Done from start to finish in Zbrush, with render pass compositing in Photoshop. Hope you guys dig it! Always open to C&C.

I like this piece. I do feel that the fur looks a bit like feathers in the chest area. Nice lighting on the horns too.

great face very epic feel to this…

Great job done on the Yeti…Strong image…:+1:small_orange_diamond:)

Glenn

yeti face is awesome

Wow, what a cool concept!! Love it!

Definitely digging this one…

totally believable creech dude, love it!

@kaisasose thank you :slight_smile: the feather feeling of the fur was actually intentional, to get the feeling of an eagle and represent battered age and some wisdom. hopefully it came through that way.

@earthtriber thanks kindly, i’m glad it came off epic!

@spiritdreamer hiya Glenn, nice to hear from you! thanks for the kind words. hope all is well with your work too

@lazynoob thank you! your creature is cuter though :D. i was looking through your blog at your awesome work. you’re an AAU student also?!

@triplej96 thanks triplej! i appreciate it :slight_smile:

@dragonCG thanks dragon!

@digitalsmithy ahh thanks man, that’s really good to hear! means i’m on the right track with getting better with my character designs.

Man, I really cannot be happier with Zbrush! It’s nice having a workflow that is intuitive to me that revolves completely around ZBrush. No BS, just sculpting :).Final_Render3_02.jpg

very convincing !

Best yeti so far!

Brilliant idea to have a gorilla inspired face, and very well executed too!

Very powerful and “noble” fantasy portrait. Strong work in every way.

@kokoro thank you for checking out my thread again :slight_smile: some great work coming from you also.

@daidda best is stretching it quite a bit :stuck_out_tongue: but I really appreciate it either way!

@kevphil thank you for the kind words man.

Here is some concepting I initially did for the character. There are a few others I liked also, but ended up landing on #10

I like 2 3 and 10.

make them all! a tribe of yeti’s

I like 6 best :smiley: … but however excellent works in this thread. This one is worth checking over and over, so keep it up :wink: .

@womball thanks womball! I’ve done #10 already on the previous page

@earthtriber hahah I should! that would be a lot of fun

@boeserwolf thanks boeser :). 6 was fun, a little too weak for what I wanted the final image to be though, I think

I’ve gotten started on #2 already and will maybe take him to final illustration also, we’ll see.Final_Render3_02.jpg

Ver nice work, and i can only echo this:

@rattus thanks :stuck_out_tongue: I just might have to get to work on some more of them when I have some extra time.

Until then, some new work from me! Similar to the Yeti, this is my take on another legend. This time, the goatsucker himself Mr. Chupacabra! Trying to mix in elements on various quadrapeds based on the Chupacabra’s description, but also some bat influence and fish influence. This is done from dynamesh spheres purely in Zbrush from start to finish, BPR then photoshop for compositing. Thanks again to Bryan Wynia for his direction and amazing help on this one as well. Always open to comments or critiques still. Thanks! :slight_smile:
