Simple answer to all this fush… make the users to pay for the new upgrade and you will instantly see people thinking twice and shut their mouth.
No, I’m not rich either. But let’s keep up the standards here ppl. 
Hexagon 2 looks promising, but it still seems like modeling with it is slow. I like how zbrush uses a “pencil” and feels more like your sketching in clay.
id pay $200 for the zrig/pose function alone, right now! its all I care about. hell if I had $1,000 in hand id offer to pay that right now for this function.
its not really complaining that where doing, its just were limited and not growing as artists. thats the main issue for me. I had a blast with zbrush the past couple of months. but its kind of the same thing over and over. its boring now, there isnt a change or growth. I thought zbrush was limitless, but now I see its limit. its probably really amazing if you knew maya,3dsmax or xsi well so you can rig and pose your model. I know a little, but its time consuming and I am limited with those programs. I made the mastake of thinking 2.5 would be coming out and stopped learning maya, back in november! I was/am a dumbass for thinking that. owell, good thing I sculpt in clay and play with zbrush as a hobby!
though, if they keep this crap going. I dont think they will have much of a user base. another company will come up, a programmer that wants to show what he/she has. it will end zbrush all together. I already know a few professional artists that have stopped using the program and turning to others. it will multiply rapidly in the coming months I think, unless this big 2.5 comes out.
This is why you can not wait two years until you release new a version software. Other companies will eventually catch you.
Hexagon 2 could be a Zbrush and Silo Killer.
In the right artist hands I think Hexagon 2 could be great.
However I will stick with Zbrush for now. I was one of the first people to buy it when it first came out years ago.I know it like the back of my hand.
well, even if they still need a bit of time, they where the first with this great concept. It´s the same in music… look at an example like metallica - of course before they did this terrible change to st. anger - it took them mostly more than 2 years to finish a new record and everybody was moaning. But when it came out, everyone praised them to the skies. Be patient and Pixologic will rock you! Furthermore Zbrush is not the only possibility to pose characters, the other way may be a bit more complicated, but is also worth to learn.

I love that Pixologic has developed Zbrush. However they are falling into the same pit as the developers of Maxwell. Since I am familar with Maxwell I have seen how a company can piss off it’s loyal customer base by continually changing it’s announcement policies. See the link below if you doubt what I am saying.
Cy, your warning is right. I know Hexagon for a while and it works well without bugs. I pre-ordered the update. I did see the new possibilities they build in and they made a real big jump into a good direction. I also own Cinema4D, and this program is blown away (only for modeling) by the new Hexagon. I realy hope ZBrush will come soon with a Hexagonkiller!

don’t think that is entirely fair. Pixologic sticked to the roadmap pretty closely with all other releases (and they were all FREE!). Now the main software release slipped and okay, they keep quiet (as far as I know), but that’s better than them putting one new deadlines up after the other and then missing it again.
On a sort of personal note, I somehow believe that a problem with Pixologic is that Pixolator just loves his project too much. These kind of programmers can work wonders but tend to kill off stuff when it is pressured from the outside by insisting on doing all on their own and pushing the software into extremely stretched release cycles. ZBrush is a key product in the market and I doubt that its development has adapted to the product’s changing role. Just my thoughts.

Is a simple statement regarding the release that hard to produce. Something said to clear the air is better than nothing said.

I dont care about a delay, but i care much about consistent user communication!
I’m so happy that Hexagon 2 is for april, I have order the update! But still waiting for ZBrush… because I love ZBrush, too.
As a Swiss guy too, Erklaerbar, I know that Zbrush team are very creative, and try to build new cool stuff, for us… something incredible , a thing that take time… the better surprise are the one you’re still waiting for a long long time… But after waiting , you have the best tool ever… keep going on !!!
And be proud to be a Zbrush user and fight for this cool piece of software, oh yea…

Thanks for pointing out hexagon 2. I couldn’t wait for Zbrush 2.5 so I bought xsi instead. I’m thinking hex2 might be a good affordable way to paint displacement maps. Mix it with xsi and another fav of mine Amorphium 3 I will prob have all I need. Sorry pixologic. By the way if you would have kept up with info you would have had my money and animation would have been a third priority not second.

I only have this to say after reading all the postings. Though I had a great laugh.
When Zbrush v2.5 comes out, it has to be an awesome upgrade.
You see… when you make people wait for so long, it’s a guarantee that everybody is anxious and is expecting more and more from the new upgrade.
IF, when it comes out and it sucks… bye bye Zbrush. At least that’s the impression I got after reading what many people have posted here. Well, I’m a hobyist using Zbrush, I’m learning to work with it and did pretty amazing things I think with it. At least I did things that I never though I would be able to do.
Remember the feeling of watching Doom and seeing those tick hard vains along the monster body, and your reaction is like… WWWOOOOooooaaaa…and so on… Well, I am very happy with Zbrush. Can’t complain and I’m definitely not rushing at all. Never the less, it would be good to have it out now, but is not the end of the world.
Also, I DO think that you or anyone is pretty silly @(!#&(!@ if you don’t explore other programs. Why limit your choices? Just because they are not releasing the v2.5 doesn’t mean that you can’t explore other programs. I assume that everyone is doing that. That we are all very smart/intelligent people who don’t just stick to one candy flavour.
Go out and get a life !!! Explore! Then… come back to Zbrush. I think that is pretty lack of maturity whoever turns his/her back to Zbrush, such a beautiful program, just because I don’t give you the candy now and give you later, doesn’t mean that I’m tasteless or lost my flavour. I still taste awesome even if I’m not the first best, damn, I’m still second best. Sigh… people… let’s focus here.
Another thing that I never understood, and maybe someone here can explain to me, why in the blue moon people pay for those/some upgrades when they are not even out? What’s the fus and rush??? Is there anyone rushing to give birth? LOL
Moral of the story… more you learn, more you become an excellence in your field in whatever you do. Practice makes the master and that doesn’t apply in one particular software, but to all. So, more versatile you are, better for you and your career.
Oh, hahahaha I just remembered another thing… you wouldn’t throw your woman away if she was in her “moment of the month”. Same with Zbrush guys! Just because she’s being a bit**ch now, it doesn’t mean that she’s not HOT! Damn… those buttons… uiiii… Never the less, if you learn Hex2, hey good for you cause you still have the Zbrush and at the end you will end up having 2 sexy ladies around you anytime anywhere you go. Samething with Halo 2. Had to wait 190381… years for them finally decide to make one version for PC and still you have to upgrade your OS, but I guess is worth. …“midcgi prepares his shotgun in case Zbrush 2.5 is not worth it” LOL
You say Hex 2 could be a Zbrush, Silo killer but Hex 2 isn’t out either is it, so how could it be.
We don’t even know what ZBrush 2.5 has in it so saying another app is better is madness & as Pixologic seem to be the type of company to innovate rather than replicate Hex & all the others will always follow but never lead!!!
Pixologic have changed the way everyone sees 3D modelling forever & I imagine they will do it again with the update…
Hex looks cool & very good indeed, but it looks like it does what Zbrush already does. I already own ZBrush so why would I change, I also own Silo even more reason not to switch to Hex.
In the right hands any app can be great, the app is always just a tool to create…
Be patient, Rome wasn’t built in a day, yadda yadda, I also think the fact that Pixologic haven’t updated for 2 years just shows the strength of the software, not bug fixes at all, how many software apps can say that???
