Why hasnt this thread been locked yet? After a thread reaches a billion pages, its unlikely anyones really reading any posts or information that may have come previously. As near as I can tell its just the same few people posting over and over again that theyre unhappy they dont have their free version of 2.5 yet. Im pretty sure Pixologic is aware that people would rather, all things being equal, have this promising update sooner, than later.

Pixologic, please take all the time you need to make sure you have a working program that youre happy with. Based on the incredible difference ZB 2.0 has made in my professional and personal endeavors, I trust your judgement implicitly. Itll be the same few people whining over and over again in this thread, who will be crying foul when they find a bug in 2.5.

You got it right Bingo. Considering the stability and the revolution brought by zbrush in the industry, in CG world and personnaly in my work, I would conclude :

“In pixologic the trust you must keep”

If we had more patience, the thread would end on it’s own. (and no, releasing 2.5 will inspire MORE activity in this thread, not signal an end to it)

We all know 2.5 is coming, that they’re working on it, and that it’s not ready yet for reasons they’re not comfortable disclosing. We know nobody’s happy about that, and that everyone’s still anxious to get their hands on the new release. These things go without saying, except somehow we keep saying them. We’re still talking as though there’s anything left to say.

Honestly, I don’t think closing the thread’s enough. I think every response after the initial post should be deleted. And if it’s come down to users helping each other pick competing software to go with, I think they should start banning folks from the forums – that’s just not cool.

Pixologic is obviously more tolerant of it’s users than I am. :wink:

Pixologic obviously respects it’s user base. Even though some of us has question some of their annoucement decisions, remember we also own Zbrush. So we do have a right to make comments based on a mutual relationship. I personally paid for both a Mac Version and PC version.

Banning people who purchases your product is what is not cool.

I respect everyones point of view on this thread. And do not feel anyone should be banned for anything said in this forum so far.

Cy, I agree with you, anything that is sed in this forum should be fine, After all this is a FORUM, to share ideas and thoughts, Right. I mean, common, we must trust Pixologic here, we know how great their software is and how useful it is to us.

The wrong attitude is to think that it is takin too long for us to get our greasey hands on it. We should all be thinking that maybe they are trying to make this software to the greatest of their abilities. They want this software to be better than the last. Patience is a Virtue, especially in this situation.

:smiley: OMG this forum is getting pretty nasty, why dont we all except that 2.5 will be out when its out (an estimate from pixologic would be nice though) and get back to talking bout what we want it for, or what u think should be in it, Some1 brought up Hex2 to make Pixologic hurry up I rekon, but I dont think its working lol:D .

It’s interesting to read all your opinions.
I only have this to say after reading all the postings. Though I had a great laugh.

When Zbrush v2.5 comes out, it has to be an awesome upgrade.
You see… when you make people wait for so long, it’s a guarantee that everybody is anxious and is expecting more and more from the new upgrade.
IF, when it comes out and it sucks… bye bye Zbrush. At least that’s the impression I got after reading what many people have posted here. Well, I’m a hobyist using Zbrush, I’m learning to work with it and did pretty amazing things I think with it. At least I did things that I never though I would be able to do.

Remember the feeling of watching Doom and seeing those tick hard vains along the monster body, and your reaction is like… WWWOOOOooooaaaa…and so on… Well, I am very happy with Zbrush. Can’t complain and I’m definitely not rushing at all. Never the less, it would be good to have it out now, but is not the end of the world.

Also, I DO think that you or anyone is pretty silly @(!#&(!@ if you don’t explore other programs. Why limit your choices? Just because they are not releasing the v2.5 doesn’t mean that you can’t explore other programs. I assume that everyone is doing that. That we are all very smart/intelligent people who don’t just stick to one candy flavour.

Go out and get a life !!! Explore! Then… come back to Zbrush. I think that is pretty lack of maturity whoever turns his/her back to Zbrush, such a beautiful program, just because I don’t give you the candy now and give you later, doesn’t mean that I’m tasteless or lost my flavour. I still taste awesome even if I’m not the first best, damn, I’m still second best. Sigh… people… let’s focus here.

Another thing that I never understood, and maybe someone here can explain to me, why in the blue moon people pay for those/some upgrades when they are not even out? What’s the fus and rush??? Is there anyone rushing to give birth? LOL

Moral of the story… more you learn, more you become an excellence in your field in whatever you do. Practice makes the master and that doesn’t apply in one particular software, but to all. So, more versatile you are, better for you and your career.

Oh, hahahaha I just remembered another thing… you wouldn’t throw your woman away if she was in her “moment of the month”. Same with Zbrush guys! Just because she’s being a bit**ch now, it doesn’t mean that she’s not HOT! Damn… those buttons… uiiii… Never the less, if you learn Hex2, hey good for you cause you still have the Zbrush and at the end you will end up having 2 sexy ladies around you anytime anywhere you go. Damn, that’s feel good. Hey, I know that sexy lady over there, her name is Zbrush, but hey, guess what, I know that one too, her name is Hex2… now imagine the face of those who never touched them…Think about it…

Even though some of us has question some of the it’s marketing decisions remember we also own Zbrush.
Clever shift of focus there. I’m more concerned with the potential owners checking this thread for signs of progress. You tried to force Pixologic’s hand by presenting to those people what, in your words, could be a ZBrush and Silo killer – surely the only way to counter this is to reply promptly with an update!

I'm actually glad for the link myself, being always on the lookout for supplimentary tools to enhance my Zbrush workflow. But that's not how you presented it, and I'd have found the info just as surely through other forums (where such posts aren't in conflict). Do remember that this is Pixologic's playground. ZBrush Central is a privately held enterprise. If your criticisms stand, it's because Pixologic wants you to feel welcome -- not because you have any rights. You have what rights they allow you, for the duration that they see fit to allow them. The first amendment doesn't apply here. Nobody's suggesting that you can't state your opinion, or that you can't tell Pixologic what you think. But posting hyperlinks to competing products on Pixologic's own user forum is a good place to draw the line. Anywhere else I can think of online, that would warrant a stern warning and the deletion of your comment. Second offense would suspend priviliges. I can't find the forum rules anymore -- can someone link me to them? I've searched and searched, and can't even begin to tell you what the stated policy is on that one.

Me too. But I’ve also crossed a few lines myself from time to time and wouldn’t blame the admins if they chose to get rid of me. The greater good has to come first – putting up with the few does not serve the many.

It’s more cool than pushing them to that point. If the only possible options are banning a problem user or letting them derail the community, which one would you say is less cool? I’m going to have to say that abusing hospitality is less cool than retracting it, but you’re welcome to your own opinion.

I have to emphasize “so far” – it wouldn’t be fair to bring down the hammer without prior warning this late in the game.

If it were me, I’d delete the responses, close the thread, and call it a wash. As these conversations resume in other threads, I’d issue warnings and take it from there.

No, that’d be freedom of speech. Democracy is the right to choose your own leaders. Neither apply here – we don’t choose the moderators, and we ARE subject to their best judgement.

We might have differing opinions of how far they should take that, but it's important to acknowledge that what we enjoy here are priviliges; not rights.

not only Hex 2 has feature like zbrush ! Modo will have it too! And it´s look very great. Ok, i´m waiting for the 201 upgrade since round 6 month .

See her in the Modoforum !

But when hex 2 is soo god and modo ,why zbrush beta was used and not hex2 or modo. I saw in underwold evo. she used also a zbrush beta.

There was no beta from Modo or Hex2. The workflow is better in Zbrush and the tools too. Modo is very Crashful and unstabile. Hex 1.21 is not so god for my workflow. :sunglasses:

I have looked at some of these other programs, and do they a few things that are cool. I have seen zbrush grow and grow every release. zbrush has a bright future and I love it more & more with every upgrade.

There is nothing that can replace zbrush.:smiley:

First and foremost love Zbrush and this place. I love using zbrush and will for a long time. I dont understand what the hassle is for the wait for the upgrade. Zbrush and impressive tool. Those who want zbrush to be THE complete modeling program, well tough luck. Zbrush is a tool in a pipeline as most design tools are. Hex, modo etc., will all eventually try to do what zbrush does because companies follow and compete with what works. Pixologic are the pioneeres of the high poly realtime displacement creation tool. they will always be the best, and when the upgrade finally reaches, and the sun will shine of immaculate vibrant color and the heavens rain gold for some of ya,lol, all will be impressed and astounded.

for promotion of other tools, zbrush is a pipeline tool and its innerworkings with other tools is essential in forums. im always interested in new things and programs, but in no way would i ever leave Zbrush. The other immitators are posers. :lol:

so in the end, everything happens when it is ready to and the best comes to those who wait, so mellow, smile and be happy.
