Hi MtB
In fact with your process you have simulated a sort of “lithography”
Pilou

It was very interesting and inspiring to read this thread! ZBrush surprises me now for 3 months frequently… All the pictures that came out are beautiful. It´s a pity that I have got INet now 3 days ago  I sertainly would have took part in the challenge!

But here is my contribution:

check

a really neat tekneek

greets!

PS: How do i get the figure glow more? I used glowbrush, but mor i didn´t get out of it…

Froyd,

Did you use any Glow Material? I’ve used glow material for great effects, and I’ve also used a glow light in the past to enhance the effects.

This deserves some more work to get the effect you want. Don’t give up.

This is first in a series of six variations:

T-Rex teeth tips break off and grow back, so there are fossils of just the tips of their teeth. They are around 3 inches long, I think. The whole tooth with the root included is about 10 inches long, on average. The tooth model really isn’t finished, but it looked so good during a test render that I decided to move on, since my goal was to come up with various textures, not spend two days modelling.

Second in the series:

Hi Jay
You are the master of the granualtion effect
Pilou

3rd: Fossils in a dry river bed…

3 different sets of duplicated layers in this one.

4th:

Thanks to Juandel, my ZBrush sprang a leak!

Pix, where is the bail tool at?

Thanks to Juandel, the dry river bed is dry no more.

Looking really cool jay! :+1:

Water needs reflections:

I agree, those look very nice Jaycephus! They look very ornate. :+1:

Just started reading this thread today, and couldn’t for the life of me understand what effect you were all looking for. It seemed to be something all of you saw in Pix’s original image that I was not at all seeing. At any rate, I didn’t get it until about Page 9, after seeing some of the images created using Mike’s technique. DOH! Now I see what you were all after. I must say, it is very, very, very impressive, and even though Pix has not responded yet, with or without his tute, I am sure he will be impressed as well.

Good job to Sherlock and Watson (better known as MTB and Mentat, respectively).

Brain on the water…

Brain on the woataaar.
Dan Dan Daaaaaan…Dan Dan Danaaan.

Sweeet…Hey! another Dallas guy…cool…
This has turned out to be one of the best threads, thanks to everyone for sharing ideas…

Thanks to Jay, my pic now works for this thread. Thanks Jay!

Iron Rock

Not sure if this one qualifies as the others in this thread, but I did use the technique. I actually made 3 layers, used blur brush between the orange and white layers, then sharpen brush between the blue and the orange.

Yeah wow! That looks really awesome! Like paint and rust! :+1: :+1: :+1:
