Personnal Modeling Trainings

Hello there

It has been some time I use Zbrush for personnal stuffs.
In my last artwork ‘She called herself Pride’, I use Zbrush a lot.

Few weeks ago, I decided to work on many old model I did and to use this thread to submit them to this great community.

This first one is called ‘The Elfic Flutist’ . You may notice she have the same head as my last character Pride .
In fact I used this elfic flutist head to make Pride’s one .

Anyway I hope you 'll her :

That’s all for now.
Comments and crits are welcome

soo pretty

Can I ask why you chose not to have her blowing into the instrument?

That’s not a criticsm, I’m just curious.

Really sweet!:+1: Nice work on the hands…
btw, I am curious too!.. Her face looks like she is playing the instrument, but she is not!

oh, I allready love her
cool stuff mate :+1:

Like her very much…

Beautiful sculpt - though I too am curious about the pose, why not have her playing the flute if she’s in such an expressive pose?

Anyhow, great job, keep up the great work!

After some comments about this model, I admit and I realize, that perhaps the flute is too far from her mouth lool

I didn’t want to work on her anymore, but this time I think I’ll try to correct that when I’ll have free time again in few days .

I forgot to say something about this work .
When I worked on it, I was especially inspired by ‘The Siren’ from Camille Claudel .
So wanted to do something different, more elfic, but with the same kind of pause.
It is important to me to speak about my inspiration from Camille Claudel work for this one .
Sorry to have forgotten that

Thank you for the nice comments

beautiful work!!!:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Nice work. Love the hands.

Nice work! The pose also leaves me wondering though, maybe because it’s because I expect to see a creature like that playing? so… maybe it’s my brain!

Hello again,

After some comments about the flute position around the mouth, i decided to correct that.

It doesn’t make huge changes about the overall model shape, but I hope it will seem less strange for those who pointed that mistake

Here is the new version :

Here the changes are more visible .

I really hope the flute/hands positions will be more natural

Again thank for the nice comments

very graceful idea and beautiful model but the way she’s holding the flute just doesn’t make sense to me and spoils the effect and a sillhouette… I think going for something along the lines of either of those 2 scultpures by Buick would make more sense and give it more flow:
small nude with flute
or more likely a straight flute
flute player

There’s also the fantastic Joie de Vivre cycle by Richard Macdonald with some flute players and beautiful silhouettes…

anyway I really like her face

Beautiful piece! I agree with the suggestions made by Intervain.

Exelent work but I think the flute position is wrong.

Thanks for the comments .
Hehe Inyervain ^^, it seems the correction I did on the flute position in the last screenshots don’t work for now .

I’ll try to use these Buick models references to enhance it .

Anyway thank you for the nice comments

Very nice model! I aggre with the flute comments, it don’t looks like she is playing it, but appart of that, it’s a wonderful pose and a perfect anathomy work.

This model is awesome, I would love to see a different texture on it to see the flow of the skin and cleanliness of the model.

Baron

looking great  this would be a pretty model to print out :+1:

Love the sculpt very fluid…the Metacap really brings out the overall feel, is it the one on the Download Centre?

Hello again,

Woodys3d, Lordrych, ncollings, AgentEnigma, many thanks for the comments

AgentEnigma, the matcap I use is the one from the amazing Matcap library from Ralf Stumpf .
They are for sale at Gnomonology.com.
I used the Metal Dust one, that I modified a little. I only put the Monochromatic A parameter at 0.67 .

I tried again to correct the flute position, I hope this time it will be better :

Please tell me if the flute/hands positions are more ok now ^^
I’ll post a new model I am working on very soon.

Again thank for the comments
