PaintStop Gallery

Hello 50’sKID,

Thanks for the question, you have grasped a very important detail of Paintstop …

You can use 2 layers in paintstop, BASE and TOP …
to have that kind of effect, you must go to the EDIT menu and click on SWAP LAYERS, the reverse levels becomes TOP> BASE and BASE>TOP, becomes.
very simple but very useful.
then adjust the opacity.

I hope to have helped to understand.

Best regards

Hey, Cherea, thanks for the response! That is very usefull info! I was hoping we could do that. Rich.

Hi just wondering, does the airbrush have pressure sensitivity if you use Wacom? like painter does?
by the way I AM SOOOOOO HAPPY you did this I was starting to look around for a simple drawing app and POW there it is now right in Zbrush THANKS!!!
I was so happy to see this I kept looking for the old Zsketch plugin there was back in Zbrush 2 or was that 2.5  anyway This is WAY better! Thank you !
TB;)

fall, just testing out the inking abilities. importing into a layer adds white even if transparency is 100, any way around that?

Great work everyone!!!

Spaceboy, your work is gorgeous!

It’s interesting to see that people are far less critical of eachother’s 2D work.

Yet post a perfect 3D model and it gets nitpicked to death!

Strange world…

Woah more and more rad stuff keeps on popping up here

renderdemon i like this, she could be pyramid heads girlfriend.

dslavin, thank you its nice to hear that.

splodge, maybe its something along the lines of one is interpretation and the other is representation? because when people do 3d models that are really stylized there isn’t much nitpicking there either. but try to do a realistic model and yes you’re torn to pieces, but for some people it helps.

i also find that i’m much more comfortable sharing 2d than my 3d work, maybe because i spend literally years working on my 3d stuff that it becomes super personal, it would be like sharing my journals. lol.

When I go to edit and switch layers I get a white canvas and the transparency slider does not change anything (in otherwords still have a white canvas)
Can you give me a step by step way to use the two layers in PaintStop

The manual shows a layer button with top and bottom but does not say where the botton is located.

@SpaceMan:

I try to be precise:
example, if your picture appears on the BASIS:
1-create the figure, we make an example of black lines that represent the picture.
2-hour jump on the TOP, (activate icon shaped eye for both levels)
3-level design into the TOP, you’ll see that the color covers the design of the BASIC level, it is normal because you’re on a level above.
4-finished to give the color you go to EDIT> SWAP_LAYERS
5-levels are now reversed, the black line of the figure is visible, and the color is below the line of drawing.
very simple and very functional.

Layer Opacity used to adjust color intensity.
I hope you have understood, if you have any questions please ask as well.

best regards

TattooAndy, Sav, saintastik, renderdemon, Spaceboy412 – Wow, great images!

@ Moni -Thanks

I recently went to a drawing exhibition and saw Hans Hoffman’s exquisite 1578 watercolour of a wild boar piglet. I totally fell in love and couldn’t resist doing a quick study to learn more about Paintstop. I tried a few tools but finally settled on the soft airbrush with some different alphas. I hope you like it!
I love this plugin!
Cheers
Sav

sav that is really wonderful!

Nice piglet Sav:)
Thanks Spaceman412!
Thanks Etcher!
Thanks Moni-Poroni!

What I have found interesting in PaintStop are the different sheets, you can use them for doing a lot of experiments,so you can approach easily more difficult drawing, sketching the ideas and shapes as you start to see them(I work mainly from imagination).

Watercolor are so cool!.
Here is a little sketch I made this evening,I should finish it but I’m tired.
