My tlittle try

well, this little application is pretty neat for a freebie (for non-comercial use)

Tattoo
http://www.terabit.nildram.co.uk/tattoo/
it allows you to paint your model in stunning 3d.
reminds me a lot of deep paint 3d, just not as feature rich.

models must be fully/correctly UV mapped for it to work properly.
also it is a good idea to have the texture quardinates window open while you paint so you dont accidently paint on another part of your model…

I think the neatest thing about tattoo is the ability to spin your model while you paint… this is very handy when painting even bricklines on archetecture. it is also just fun to experement with…
In highschool i learned a neat trick in ceramics class… you can take your pottery, and place it back on the pottery wheel (ON SLOWEST SPEED), and paint nice lines areound your pots and bowls… tattoo is neat in this way

http://planetgenesis.sourceforge.net/

neat program to make terrains and planets…

Neat utility for modeling boats and ships… looks like it is cross platform one of the screenshots shows KANOTIX.

it will export to :
Wavefront (.obj) file format, DXF 3D polylines, DXF faces, unfolded panels to dxf, linesplan to dxf, Offsets to a textfile and stations to ArchimdesMB

This is an open source project.:sunglasses:small_orange_diamond:+1:

EDIT thankyou Lemonnado
http://sourceforge.net/projects/freeship/

Edit Edit:
here is the home page…
http://www.freeship.org/

Link for the Free Ship ???
Lemo

http://jlipsync.sourceforge.net/

above is a link for JlipSync…

for lipSyncing your audio… will export to moho or to Magpie which can be used by several modeling packages like Blender.

this is a Java application, so if you got java, you can probably run this

Thanks Polaris30!

Nice boat Lemo

I played with this software a year ago, and it was neat… looks like a lot more things have been added…

It is no longer a Linux only application, it now has a OSX and Windows 32 bit bianaries.

EDIT:
looks like the next version will include a new shader system… Hope we can import our normal mapped models into it…
version 3 is due in a month or so…

…the rotation 3D with mouse ? boat.jpg

I could not find the controls either… I tryed Control, and Alt with all mouse buttons

Then I went and looked around the download area, and found a PDF manual…

http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/freeship/FREEship_version_1.91_Manual_PDF.zip?download

According to the manual the only way to rotate the 3d viewport is with the scroll bars… on the right side of 3d viewport and on the bottom. click and drag…

I was able to click on the scroll bar, and the use the arrow keys on the keyboard. but could find no easyer way to rotate .

It’s not so bad  aa.jpg

Houdini 8 Beta for free ! A very strong Program!
Have fun animation!

Here you’ll find a FREE programe which is said to be a clone of the known Painter. There are also 2 tutorials which one of them shows how to create brushes. It’s also tablet (pressure) compatible( as I understand it)

Happy Free painting

That’s a great little gem! The brushes really are very good, even if the program is a super-duper clone of Painter.

I agree with reactor, this is a nice little paint application

I especialy like the gradient tool, it is exactly like the on in GIMP…

unlike gimp tho, this has an excellent alpha/brush system

I am going to try running it in linux under wine later today… I would much prefer this application for some of my projects

Thanks for the link

… always happy to help

nice free program :+1:
