Sweet I’ve been waiting for Terragen 2 for a long time. Thanks for the headsup.

The new interface is a little bit  diferent from the past versions. When you start playing around you see that is not that much dificult as it seems but will take some time to learn to use all the potential of the app.

I really like what I’m seeing from Terragen 2…I can’t wait till they get the multi-threading going.

While here is my render…

I should have listened and use the render/crop feature first. I messed up on the snow layer, and when I tried to fix it, I screwed up the grass. (you can barely see the grass) Oh well.

45 minute render
640X480
quality: 1
Volumetric 3D clouds with 16X’s sample
AA 3
Single thread app.

…general horizontal circular clouds form
Maybe the next depression arrives

PS Mojo World seems very more funny!
You can make an entiere planete with it !!!
Very polyvalent!
There is a free viewer for see crazzy landscapes in 3D

you can make planets in T2, probably not as easily though.

Does anyone have any work from grobooto combined with zbrush they could show?
jf

Frenchy Pilou, I messed up the clouds as well…what do you want from a 20 minute noob.

What can ya tell me about Izware Mirai? I’m sort of from post-Mirai era,
and was wondering why even now people are nostalgic about this application?
I’ve noticed that http://www.izware.com/ site is still open and they sell Nendo,
but there is no demo or something of Mirai just patches.
What is the status of Mirai now? Abandonware? Why so?

XSI V6 is available… WH :o :o :o :o !!!

Lemo

I got email from them saying that it was out, and that if this and that you get the upgrade for free!

Under that was a link that stated get your upgrade.

i thought that meant me for free, but nope:cry:

XSI v6.0 is gonna be siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick!

Don’t know why, but it’s been that way since before I looked a couple of years ago. Is there any particular reason you’re interested?

The reason of my interest in Mirai is that I still don’t have a reasonable low-poly modeler.
I’ve tried Hexagon but the demo crashed so many times on my system that I had to choose
different application, some say it’s due to a bug with Nvidia drivers, I don’t know.
I sort of like silo 1.4 (don’t know about their version 2), but I’m watching their forums closely.

I think modo is in a best position as a modeling/rendering app that has future... way too expensive for me right now, but I've tried their demo and rendering was very pleasing, also modo's macros 'thing' - good stuff. So that's why I look around for something like Mirai, modeler that people find classic.

(p.s. I know about wings, blender and other free stuff:))

p.s. 2 I'm also downloadding XSI 6 foundation, no plans to purchase it, but who knows I might be hooked:),

I’d love to have all-in-one, 500 is not that bad.

If you just want polygon modeling, then either Silo or Wings 3d are fantastic choices.

Silo is a very nice little program, it can handle more polygons than wings 3d, which won’t matter to you if you’re doing low poly.

Wings has some nice features for doing “technical” modeling. e.g. select similar and advanced deformers.

From what I understand, Wings 3d is (or was) in the spirit of Nendo/Mirari. Silo isn’t far from the mark either.

What I found out is that the price was: “$6495.00. Special educational pricing of $650.00 was available to qualified users.” now how about that! And that Izware doesn’t support license transfer, which means that even if you find it somewhere and buy it will be illegal copy  .
I don’t know from some screenshots I’d say Maya inherited some features, something that looks like ‘full body IK’ etc.
For that price it must have been ‘something like Maya’.
Right… Get ready for Santa kids

Mirai was a hugely advanced poly modeler in its prime, but all the features are common to just about all 3d programs these days.
