Can anyone shed some light as to whether Maya 8.5 is considered an “additional application” or not?
I’m with jar3d, any chance if it will work with Maya 8.5?
Thanks for the tip. That got rid of the sphere.
I just installed it and it works great. can’t wait for the zbrush4
I tried using polyspheres in modo (sort of zspheres) and it would either make zbrush crash, or make some weird polys appear. I guess polyspheres creates some sort of spine that they follow, I don’t know the correct procedure of getting rid of that, but I cut the polys, then deleted the “spine” and pasted the polys back in. clicked goz and it appeared just fine in zbrush. So there’s the answer to a potential problem.
I figure there’s a better way of getting rid of that spine, I hope someone can post how.
on a side note, just being able to model in modo, paint in zbrush and then render in modo all with the click of a button (ok, a couple of buttons)… this is just amazing. It is exactly what I’ve been looking for.
GoZ totally rocks, very simple to use and works a treat…
Running Modo 302…
Another release for the Mac? I would have thought the PC market would take priority as I’d guess at the user base being x5++ the size?
I’m coming from a place that’s totally and completely jealous!
Considering that we had to wait more than 1 year, after the release of ZB 3, for the Mac version, and Windows users have only to wait until August for GoZ, it’s not such a bad deal. If we had just a month of delay for the Mac version we would be generally pretty happy.
I don’t think there is a word in the English language for the warm feeling this tool gives me, it works flawlessly. I swear that my copy of Cinema4D has started purring. Really amazing. Decimation master is also staggering. I just tested it by reducing a 4.8m poly object to 950k with no noticeable difference.
Thanks Pixologic!
Seeing that the Mac never got Zapplink or Zmapper this is so refreshing to have Go Z.
has a list of whats new been posted yet?
I was wondering.
Will we ever see ZappLink?
I’ve seen the feature of the new Zbrush where you can paint with textures but I’m sure it can’t beat photoshop.
Since I use photoshop every day I’m more comfortable is using that, rather than some awkward implementation of it, that won’t work as it’s supposed to, at least till the next point release…
And I’m sure that’s a fact for a lot of people
Anyway I guess we will see.
After following this:
“If upon launching ZBrush 3.2 you receive a chain of errors stating that files cannot be opened, it will be necessary to manually set permissions for your ZBrush folder. Do the following:
Open the Finder and locate the ZBrushOSX 3.2 folder.
Click on the folder to select it and press Cmd+I to Get Info
At the bottom of the info window, click the padlock to unlock the permissions
Modify folder permissions to ‘read and write’ for all users. You may be asked to enter an administrator password.
Click the Gear drop-down and activate the option to “Apply to Enclosed Items”
OK the change
Repeat these steps for the Pixologic folder, which is located in /Users/Shared
Once permissions are assigned correctly, you should be able to launch ZBrush 3.2 without errors.”
Going from Zbrush to c4d works, but nothing happens when the button is pressed from c4d except the “selected object will be converted to an editable object and then sent”. But after this nothing.
What to do?
Sorry about that. I confused the two threads.
I’m a Mac, too!
I have to thank you guys for not forgetting the mac user-base, it really makes us happy to be remembered. ; 3 These tools are just awesome too, and you guys are awesome for bestowing them upon us artist-folk.
I’m not only a user anymore, I’ve become a fan.
Pixo crew, you guys rock!
Thank you so much. Excellent work.
I Wish The Zb4.0 Plushed Now…
Looking Forword To…
Don’t know if anyone say that before but, to speed up things you can map the maya commands to a new hotkeys.
On lower part :
Confirm overide of older mapping (if you actually use “m” key change it before validating).
Now you can use “m” key to switch in both applications.
Hope you like
