****OSX Update: ZBrush OSX 3.2, GoZ, DecimationMaster, 3D PrintExporter

Can you originate a model in Maya 2009 and send it using GoZ to zBrush? Say a polgon primitive cube and send it to zBrush?

Add: You can delete the sphere from the startup script.

I have tried it both ways round and it worked fine for me.

Yes, I just tried it.

Thanks on the startup script. I’ll check that out.

I found the problem. It was my bad. I changed the name of the app to identify it in the doc from my 3.12b. This messed up the pathscript since it was looking for the default name. It works, now.

Again, thank you guys for not letting us down!
That could look childish, but somewhere, I feel it nice ^^

Awesome update as far. Keep up!

any of you mac users want to record a stress-test type video and upload it to youtube? I’m still pretty skeptical that this whole thing will work as advertised without any problems or workarounds. I guess I’m just too used to all of the workarounds I use by necessity in 3.1

Geometry going back and forth is one thing- but how about sculpting detail and then going back into maya and making some major modifications to the base geometry. when you go back to zbrush does it still contain the sculpted details? is there any degradation of the quality of the details?

Great, that means us Windows users can whine for a while, eh?

im wrong or Geometry going back and forth is part of zb4. the 3.2 mac update contain just an sneak preview of it “goz”

You are wrong. It works as in the movie. Back and fourth with geometry and all the maps. Ha…even the Displacement values make it look exactly right in C4D… I love it. Switching things back and fourth goes in light speed time as well.

im so yealous lemol!
What kind of settings does zbrush use in c4d?
does it use subpolygon displacement by default to match the zbrush mesh?

Congratulations Mac artists.

Question about the GoZ feature.

Do you have to still set up and unwrap your UV’s or is that all handled by GoZ?

Thanks.

Yes please, make some cool videos for the win users!

Ok, I was very excited for about two minutes. I just downloaded the update and when I launch the program it starts with a polysphere already on the screen. When I hit defaultZscript to import an obj. it creates another sphere. Anybody else having this issue?

Yes, the annoying sphere… Just copy the default ZScript from 3.12b to the 3.2 directory and you’ll be back to normal

You could remove the sphere from the defaultScript.txt. Took me 30 secs.

Just one thing…

Thats awesome!!!

You pixologic realliy Rock!! I´ve tested the GOZ and WOW!! how many work does it do for us.

5 stars for you!

anyone managed to install DecimationMaster plugin yet? :qu:
prosthetix

Yes, works fine if you follow the installation instructions.

Richard

Thanx Richard :+1: :+1:

Yes, you still have to have UVs on your model. If you haven’t already, You guys should check out the instructional videos that Pixolator published at the top of this thread for answers to some of your questions. The workflow is just that straight forward. I understand the apprehension but if this works with 95% of my sculpts at v1, I’d consider that a major achievement. As time goes by Pixologic will continue to refine the tool as I’m sure we will all give them plenty of feedback on what doesn’t work. Hence the 3.2 release.

Personally, I’m looking forward to a GoZ bridge to BodyPaint.
