****OSX Update: ZBrush OSX 3.2, GoZ, DecimationMaster, 3D PrintExporter

Yes you heard me! I’m using something not only before my PC user counterparts, but I’m actually using it without any problems!!!

Actually there was an error displayed, but the function continued and still worked. Z - Modo, rendered in modo badly at first, hit the Tab key for Sub-D, rendered perfectly, altered some geometry, modo - z, updated the mesh.

QUITE SIMPLY AMAZING.

Not to mention we got Decimation master and 3D Exporter today too!

I have to ask… why? ZBrush as it currently stands is already one of the most efficiently coded 3D applications out there. In fact, the footprint of the main ZB3.2 app on disc is actually about 5+MB smaller than 3.12b (73.5 vs. 78.3 MB).
There are features I don’t use, but never found them to be ‘in the way’ so to speak. PhotoShop or Maya on the other hand…

ammm… i wasnt even thinking about size or coding  but about usability here - for some (me included) there is too much stuff, simply - to much. too many buttons, sliders, options, etc. i love goz already for it’s simplicity.

You know you can completely customize the ZB3 GUI don’t you? I’ve spent a lot of time doing so and ending up with a GUI that only has the features I use most up on screen. The rest is always hidden away in the Menubar. If you find the menu’s themselves too cluttered there is the option of creating your own custom menus that you can have docked in the trays on the left and right of the canvas. Just pick and choose the buttons and sliders you want and dock them in there. That way don’t have to use the standard ZB menu’s which you feel are too cluttered. You can even hide the menu bar itself to really tidy things up. I urge you to check it out… you’ll be amazed what you can do with ZB’s GUI.

 let me try… thanks.

This is really important. If you generally use only your own copy of Zbrush or other customizable UI apps, then customizing is usually a good idea.

It was a great addition to Adobe apps, and Zbrush, Modo, you can really just get in there and prune the stuff you don’t use. It’s still there so you don’t have to worry about it, and you can save the layout and reload the default if you ever need to, no harm done.

It really streamlines your work, not having to click and drag and pull just to get to the things you want.

F A N T A S T I C !
Thank you Pixologic !

Works like a charm for me, as soon as installed.
Perfect integration between ZBrush and modo.

BazC. Very glad it works for you now

Oh my, what a nice surprise, Pixologic does love us…

Hey folks, it sounded GREAT when they said GoZ for Maya … and probably IS great for those with Maya 2008+, but for those with Maya 8.5 is there any possibility of having GoZ work for us?

It seems it’s close enough … I hit the GoZ button and it finds Maya and launched but something falls down in the code as it translated the mesh into Maya 8.5. I even have the GoZ button on my shelf … it just does nothing!

I’d love to know if I’m hoping for something that will never happen … any hint would be great

Thanks in advance,

Jar3d.

Cheers mate!

the 3.2 update link works fine now but I still can’t download the vids,
I get this message “This server can only be accessed by the proper referring server”
thanks

wow so smooth
My head fills with SO MANY ideas!!!

This is by far the coolest thing I have ever played with.

TY Pixologic

why forgot 3dsmax one of the most used 3d software!!?

Because it’s not available for Mac.

Wait until August and you will see 3ds Max along with some others i’m sure.:stuck_out_tongue:

i dont explain well, ever in zb4 for Win dont have for max

thanks aurick

I don’t understand why this question has been asked SO. MANY. TIMES. Do you guys just need the reassurance? In the first GoZ video, the narrator explains that they’re not stopping with just the 3 applications that GoZ works with now. I’m sure they haven’t forgotten the max users—that would be downright crazy. It is, after all, one of the most widely used 3D apps. It’s obvious that GoZ has been designed for use with Macs first. 3dsmax just isn’t on the Mac (believe me, I wish it was) so maybe that’s why they’re not addressing it right now.

If you haven’t already, you 3dsmax peeps should also ask Autodesk if they’re working on it too. I believe Pixo had to work pretty closely with each app developer to get it where it is now. Hope everyone is happy when August rolls around.

Has anyone been able to use GoZ to send a model from Maya 2009 or Maya 2008 to zBrush 3.2? I have been able to send a model from zBrush, but not the other way. Thanks.

Works fine with me with Maya 2009. Only works consistently when ZBrush is already launched and that default sphere isn’t loaded. How do you get rid of that thing on startup?
