Obbi's Sketchbook - 2009

This is his sketchbook and it’s up to him how often he wants to update.
If you don’t like it, ignore it, at least give him some constructive crits, that was unnecessarily destructive, in my opinion.

Santis,

“harsh” is not destructive, and there’s a question of integrity, to subject matter as well as ‘personal’, see link for an example of both…
FABIO PAIVA ABORIGINAL

Otherwise, I stand by my rough constructive feedback, I mean, he’s got the goods, but he’s more revving than vrooming so to speak…

Amazing work my friend, congratulations!!!

Very well done my friend, Is very good your work!!! Congratulations!!! A big hug!!!

I agree with santis, guringo’s comments are detructive and unnecessary. Sometimes people on these forums forget that this is ART. If he wants the head to look that way then so be it, that’s his choice. If you wanna see scientific hyper realistic accuracy then go buy a medical book and stare at that. And posting “minor tweaks” is interesting to a lot of people, including myself. Good job on the bust!

Hi my friend  Great job on the bust !!:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Vince, you’re probably right, people do forget that this is about ART and how ART without INTEGRITY is irritably disingenuous and objectionably profane. Case in point, since my last visit, Obbie replaced the white face-painted ‘final’ with a less conspicuous new one. Noblesse oblige, anyone?

Secondly, this is not about ‘choice’, but resonance, nor do I subscribe to the feel-good-feedback school of politesse and conformology, so insofar as his work and presentation resonate with me, I may just be doing him a greater favor calling him out on his constrictive and hesitant and even ‘imitational’ “artitude”, of his choice and charter of rights etc, than by supporting the Dunning-Kruger Effect with yet another sympathy-biased ‘thumbs up’…

As for the title in question, (Obbie - African Tribesman, not -men), I find it a wee bit on the superfluous slope to portentous, whereas ‘Zorqian-Nativoid-with-or-without-Cranial-Thrombosis’ has that “hey, I’m having fun with this je ne sais quoi of mine”.

Love it!
Thanks for sharing with us

only issue i see is that the proportions of the legs seem off. for example… the knees are smaller then the guys hands and wrists… this being a big muscular demony guy it makes him look like he’s got weeeeee itty bitty women legs.

Awesome!
very beautiful character and realization!

amazing love the character …

The warrior is coming along nicely. Good sense of weight.

whoa a serious bruiser, good feel of weight throughout
