Now Im having fun

Hello cgmystic,

Attached is the Material I used for this image.
Actually, its a simple one I made from a Basic Material.
To get a quick view of it just apply this material to Dog.ztl ( from LightBox/Tool ).
Notice however that, because of some of the properties of this material it will only render
properly with Best Render. ( After Best Render you can always use BPR)

No UVMaster here… only 3 cycles of GUV/AutoGroups with UVs/GroupLoops applied to a simple Box for the “walls”

I am no expert with Keyshot for I rarely use it, but I’ve tried texturing an obejct and sent it to Keyshot and it worked 100%.

  • What texture extension are you using? Is it a standard one?( PSD, JPG, Png…)
  • You may try to copy the texture in Keyshot’s texture folder to see if this helps…
  • You may also want try to apply the texture with FILL OBJECT with Mrgb ON. ( with “Texture on” OFF in Subtool/Texture Map ) then sending it to Keyshot.

Hope this helps.

Good morning everyone!
I hope you are all doing well!!!
I missed you guys, I have been working nonstop in places where there is no internet and in the case of where I am now with internet that is so slow that pictures never load. Like having a 2400 baud modem with two hundred people trying to use it at once

Paleo, the things you are making are wonderful, thank you for posting them.

CgMystic, Are you talking about using image maps exported from ZBrush and then applied in KeyShot by hand or by just using the bridge?
If you are just sending them over on the bridge and you can see them on your objects turn on all the bridge options in ZBrush (I cant see them right now, wrong computer) and turn (I think) MRGB on before exporting to KeyShot.
If you are doing it manually, like you have separate image files exported, I am having trouble with that too.

Cheers everyone!
I MISS YOU ALL!!!

We all miss you to, Mealea… miss your enthusiasm and inspiration.

Meanwhile, here is, what I think is a greatly underated artist, madly in love with ZBrush… :

Hello everyone.
I’m still playing around with displacements…
Miss you all.F-G-3.jpgF-G-2C.jpg

Liking the details on your panels. #2128
Made something similar with irregular panels.
Been wondering what would be the best work flow,
to have extreme detail on the individual panels?
Considered uv unwrapping as a cylinder since the model is a cylinder.
Then doing a initial poly paint to establish all the landmarks.
Followed with a photoshop repaint of the texture to be mapped.
And/or when Quixel 2 is released push it to the next level.

(One interesting thing about my zbrush configuration.
I have to rotate the model 90° before applying zbrushes uv cylinder projection.
Then rotating -90° to get the model back in position with my other subtools.)

Hi Paleo3D and MealeaYing.
This is a great thread. Sweet image Paleo.
Have been toying with the idea of doing displacement maps using 3D tools to look like panels etc. Alpha grab doc add to displacement etc. But I thought I would try making different dimensions instead of using square maps all the time. So lets say the model has a really long panel…then I make a really long alpha to displace etc. uv Planer seem to work ok for this scenario.
Anyway bit of a trial at the moment.
Thanks Paleo3d for keeping me on my toes.
PS is there a better way to unwrap tools for uvs other than master or guvs etc?
Cheers.

This incredible thread has been quiet for far too long.
So wishing everyone a Happy Halloween!
And in that spirit here is recent Zbrush creation …CGmystic-Anchient.mask.gif

Hey cgmystic , had fun on H. night? Your mask is quite original and fits the mood.

For my part I “celebrated” by playing around with ZB. Attached are the results… ( 3-versions )
Just having fun…

The Satellite model is after a concept of Daniele Valeriani seen here :

Hi everyone!!!
Hows life?!?!
Good I hope, its been a distressingly looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time.
I missed you all very much.

While I have been away from here I have done almost NOTHING on the computer…
Like, almost nothing at all.

Productive huh?

I got KeyShot 6 Pro today, if all goes well and I don’t get resorbed by work I should be able to be here with the lot of you more.
This is where I like to be and not being here has sucked in the worst way.

I forget how to upload pictures here…

MealeaYing - good you are back.
Missed your inspiring and positive personality a lot.

Best,

Knacki
