ZBrushCentral

Now Im having fun

;):+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Oldies But Goodies…
Had time on my hands waiting, so made good use of it by going over hi-lights of the first 65 pages here
(that I have printed out and put in a 3-ring binder)…so much cooooool info!

So decided to continue mining the gold, and am up to page 76…a great page!
I’m seeing it for the first time, and love the alien slugs!

BTW, are you feeling warm & fuzzy about Blender yet?

Take it from one who once scoffed & cursed at Blender,
give it time and it will grow on you…like a beautiful coral.

I’m feeling a lot calmer about ZBrush now…still fuzzy about a lot of
stuff yet, but getting there, thanks to you.

Anyway, got new inspiration(s) today, and want to combine your techniques with
Glenn’s greebles on a TopMod mesh…then animate it in VUE (if the render times are
reasonable). :):+1:

mealea,

Welp.
No.
I can’t stand it, but I will say this:
I hate using Blender but I love it for what it is: a real tool…I will learn, or keep trying to learn Blender.

I have to admit, I don’t use Blender for modeling, but do love to create physics sims or abstract animations with it, and like to use all the different renderers.
Blender was on my bucket list, and got very frustrated with it. But at some point, I hope you’ll actually enjoy using Blender. It was something I’d put off for years, having already invested $$$ in other apps.
It’s the only app that inspired me to create a website for it, which I hope will benefit others.

TopMod is awesome, and I have yet to try this greeble pack, I will get around to it soon I hope…

Yeah! Amazing what you can do with a few clicks! I think it may also help me with ZModeler.

The idea of you printing out this monstrosity of a thread is both alarming, flattering and amazingly cool, the ink and paper must be costing you a fortune!

Yeah, I do need to add more toner!
But well worth the small cost & effort…really, it’s condensed to only a handful of pages of pure gold!

And I’m only 1/2 way! =O

Really, anyone who has not gone through each page is missing out on cool art, inspiration, and a wealth of great info & tutorials.

mealea,

on p79, #1173
ā€œThis Is a Gearā€ ??? Best Use of ZB Gear Primitive Award!
Would look great in teak, walnut, cocobolo, jade, marble…even sandstone.

I’m fantasizing, imagining it about 500ft high, partially buried in the terrain
of a world circling a star in a galaxy in the Hubble Extreme Deep Field,
an enigmatic sentinel, like the Sphinx…awesome!

On this very cool image, p80, post#1188,
did you use brushes to create the spine, belt, etc details or displacement map?

Delving into KeyShot and pondering Blender…
What a friggin trade off, ease of use for vastly less options.

awestruck & speechless. =O

Fantastic im playing with panels and loops at the mo and this inspires me greatly

Striking! Really nice… and elegant as usual.

Thanks Paleo!
hehehe… looks like we posted at the same moment!

Beautiful.
A Mealea style masterpiece.

ā€œeros anikate mahanā€
google search about it

re: TallZoomedCrushedForZBC.jpg in #2006,

did you use brushes to create the spine, belt, etc details or displacement map?

Neither, I used the selection tools (Control Shift Click and Control Alt Shift Click with Rect and Lasso) and then use the Disp Slider under Edge Loop in the Geometry pallet.
I have been finding ZModeler very amusing because I have been able to do all the stuff it does, with a few very notable exceptions for quite a while.
I use this method all the time, for me its better even than panel loops which can look similar but results in all sorts of weird geometry…
Both those images use the same thing…
Making the gear is actually on youtube I think.
Yep! Found it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JOhCjeJ1dU
I did another one like this with a lot of cephalopods but used the spiral, that was a lot of fun too, but the video is too big…

Very clean lines…great modeling & form.

Love all the robots, expecially 1.82! :):+1:

re: p 85, #1268 Giger’s (left one?) & the AutoSpank2000…OMG! :grimacing:

re:

pondering Blender…
Actually, why bother with Blender? What do you want to do
in Blender that you can’t do in ZBrush?
You play ZBrush like Goya plays the guitar!

Beautiful.
A Mealea style masterpiece.
:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Can I second that emotion? :D:D

well its still fantastic this programme makes you weant to delv in and create

@Megcal:
About Blender, and why I think I still need it…
Rigging, animation, rendering (its better than KeyShot by far) lighting, and as you mentioned, the simulation stuff.

To me Blender is a tool, albeit one that I don’t enjoy using, whereas KeyShot is a toy.

I didn’t know you were interested in animation…I’d love to see any.

Seeing Sintel changed my mind, and gave me the incentive to try harder to learn Blender.
LOL! Just like your art did for me vs ZBrush!

Also…
I thought Goya was a painter…

STOMP STOMP STOMP!
MOOOO!
iSi, Francisco! I was referring to Francis the classical guitarist.
Same comparison either way!

@michalis,
It could be applied to my war with Blender, if I win eventually I will love Blender as much as I love hating the fight to learn it!

I know you will! :):+1:

I know you will!

HAHAHA!!!
Thanks, and so does Michalis!

This wont render fully it takes too long.

Oh my, oh my
now your going crazy

fantastic

Very nice Mealea! :+1: I really like the image in post 2011 too! :+1:
