ZBrushCentral

Now Im having fun

I need LOTS of beers right now…
This sucks.

Thank you for the advice Michalis.

How about:
http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model-datasheet/NX.M0SAA.003

Is that better?
It only goes up to 16GB of ram but I think I can live with that…
It has an extra slot for an HD too so I can stick one of those SSD thingys in and put ZBrush in that and make it squeak with happiness!
I think…

Anyhow is that a good one?

Cheers, (for more beers! (or rum))
Mealea

I think I’m going to buy that one (http://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-V3-771G-9809-17-3-Inch-Laptop/dp/B009JXJWZI), I cant get any information that says I shouldn’t and no one seems to have better suggestions other than things with tiny monitors and horrible keyboards.
My old computer had an ATI Radeon HD 4250, this new one has an NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M which is just one video card in a list of possibilities over 20 pages long, I don’t know what the difference is but I am betting that its a bit better.
My old processor was an AMD Turion II Dual-Core P520 2.3GHz, it is unmeasurably slower than i7-3632QM processor (2.2GHz/3.2GHz w/ Turbo Boost) I don’t know what turbo boost is on a computer but I know its the thing in cars that causes your head to sink back into the seat and I like the feeling of that a lot.
Does ZBrush like Turbo Boost? It sounds yummy to me.

I guess my question would be what CANT I do with this computer?

This is killing me, I want ZBrush back and I’m sick of waiting.

Problem solved:

I pushed the button!

WELCOME
I also I have to press the button every day:D

if you have the cash…!! http://config.boxxtech.com/products/goBOXX/goboxx_overview.asp

hehehehehe!!!
Its the only way to find out what happens!

HA!
I don’t have the cash, BUT I did look at what I want from them and its $10,009 and I simply haven’t got it, I’m about $9.00 short… perhaps a bit more. The one I came up with using their “build it your self” tool is so fast it could incinerate the sun.

I ordered the Acer, its about the best I could find and still be able to eat.
I figure if I ever manage somehow to work with ZBrush for a living I will get something like that, in the mean time I live on a boat and accidently destroying a $10,000 laptop is out of the question.
I still don’t know what happened to my old computer…
It would be nice though wouldn’t it?

I think the Acer is going to be a vast improvement and not just because my old computer died.

and now I’m going back to pacing back and forth, it should be here on Monday I think…

I cannot believe how long this waiting feels…

Not long anymore
I am sure you will have some fun with your laptop, and finally we all will seeing you art.

Bought an Acer 7-8 years ago. It still starts whenever I switch it on.
Which is not that often anymore. Pentium 4 with 3,4 Ghz./ 3,5" HD /17" 4:3 nice Monitor which was huge for this time, as the whole thing.
Alltogether 12kg of a so called “Desktop Replacement” monster. (very loud one)
If it will not start anymore, remove the battery, put it in again and restart.
Worked for me those days, but too late.
I already ordered a new comp.

This boxx stuff is a bit too much (if one could ever have too much) for zbrush.
Whenever you’ll think about a new one again, which is hopefully not too soon, take a look on the lenovo laptops.
Solid workhorses, and much more affordable than boxx stuff.

BLAH!!!

FedX came and went and it still says “In Transit” on the Amazon website…

Sculptris is a very lovely thing.

My new computer is now a day late…
This is what free shipping is for, increasing tension.

And, when it does arrive there’s the bit about making everything work as it once did or better yet, better.

Doesn’t Fedex tracking tell you where the parcel is?
As I recall the city where it’s intransit from and eventually your local Fedex and eventually “out for delivery”.

Although I may be thinking of UPS tracking…

the quote thingy is screwy…
Hmmmm…

Oh my god its fast…

We will now expect you to post twice the work you have in the past.

ZBrush is installed!
Pixologic support is AMAZING and wonderful, it went FLAWLESSLY.
Now for the Wacom Tablet!

Greg you can expect FAR more out of me, my addiction is complete!

Mealea…:+1:small_orange_diamond:)
