Cool design on that last one!
I think I met her once at the corn dog festival!

so did you make those antennae in zbrush? are they made of subtools? or did you sculp them out of a cylender and then mirror them? Very cool stuff Nick. Are you going to add a body to her later on? It would be cool to see how you would add a torso to her.
Here is something new…

I didn’t mean to start something new but last night I wanted to learn how to make a mesh using ZSpheres, I had to make my self quit at 4 in the morn. This is the results so far from last night and a few hours tonight.

I also have been playing around with assigning materials to subTools (eyes) and using the HD sculpting tool. Very fun stuff!
I just wanted to let everyone know about a great thread that was created by Rastaman. He has made a great little tutorial on how to take a resurfaced mesh and project all the fine details of your original mesh onto your new resurfaced mesh. This is great stuff, a missing piece of the puzzle that I was looking for.
Take a look at his thread here:

Here is the result of me projecting my detail mesh onto my resurfaced mesh:

Peace,
NickZ.
is it just me or is there some discontinuity in the topology around the hole on the head? kinda looks like it’s overlapping on top of itself.
A tutorial for that was in the WIKI already I thought but hey, it’s still cool either way. Thanks for the tip!
onthevirg - You are correct, It is overlapping a bit. I learned how to fix this though, I stored a morph target before I projected the detail, then projected and the used the morph brush to paint out any un wanted projection areas.
Teyon - You are correct as well. I could be wrong but it seemed as if Rastaman’s tutorial had a few more details on the mesh projection in there, there is also the little bit about the morph target… that will save you some time.
Peace,
NickZ.
Good night all!!

Ah, good tip that. Thanks! The texture is coming along swell. Keep up the great work!
Time to go cut the grass… If only everything could be as fun as sculpting in Z3!

As for the alien with huge head on long, thin neck - dont you think that head will just breake his neck?
Apart of that nice work!
miztli - Nanomolecular engineered DNA strands have superior flexibility and strength, it’s not a big deal to hold the head up. At least that is what the aliens told me. J
Good night all…zzzzzzzz

Excellent. Love the texture.
Great work very nice texture.
Your big alien head reminds me of a character from Doctor Who. I like him by the way. There is a link to him below.
brettSinclair - Thanks bud!
gottsbett - thanks for the link. This is kinda freaky how close they look. I haven’t seen this creature until you sent the pic. Still kinda freaking me out a bit!
Thanks again,
NickZ.
I have made a new time-lapse movie for the alienHost.
You can find the video on my veoh channel.

Hi,
just tried to look at your video and caught a trojan virus,
thought you might want to know.
Dude, that is messed up. Shouldn’t come form my video becase it uploaded to the veoh.com site. (Can this sort of thing happen on googlevideo or youtube?) Hmm that is not cool at all.
Thanks for the heads up!
NickZ.
