LIONS FIGHTING BPR TEST 3.jpg

FEB. 01, 2012
Dusting off three models that I was working on a few months ago…A wolverine…an elk…and a grizzly bear…Will be good subjects to get more used to the new FiberMesh feature in ZBRUSH I think…Each of them have a very different and distinct type of fur, so it should be a good experiment to see if I can use FiberMesh to get their fur to look right for each type of animal…Anyway, need something to practice on, and these seemed to be fitting subjects to do it on.
All three were started as Sculptris sculptures, and then taken into ZBRUSH’S other features.

About the lion scenes. I like how you’re trying to render lion’s mane like fire. You could do it better if using an SSS second “node” on shader. Wax shader as well.
I like the bear as well. The hairy one. Nice study.
:+1:

Very cool gallery - totally love the motion and flow going on in your artwork.
Its great to see that you are doing all kinds of different poses and thats awesome.
A big motivation for me who is learning anatomy right now
Cheers,
KC

Thanks Michalis :)…I’ll for sure try what you said…:)…Luv what you are doing with your Renderings…Superb works, and deffinitly Inspiring,… to me anyway…:D:+1:

KC…Thanks Man :)…If you are just starting to get heavy into anatomy, I highly recommend getting the instructional books on anatomy and figure drawing by Burne Hoharth…You don’t have to like or copy his style, that belongs to him… But there is a ton of very useful information in those books of his that will for sure make your study of anatomy a whole lot easier as you progress with it…guaranteed… A great book of his for the study of Flow and Rhythm in figure creation, and how exactly it works, is Dynamic Figure Drawing…Outstanding book, and a most treasured jewel in my own personal library.
Google his name…Burne Hogarth, and you will find the books he left behind…He was a Great teacher…One of the Best…

Deke…Thanks Man…:)…Just playing around, and having alot of fun while doing it, and still learning new stuff also,…Hoefully…LOL
Life is too short at this point in my life to do otherwise…

Thank You for the feedback and input guys…Very much appreciated and welcomed…:):+1:

Glenn; I’m in love with this last image! I want to bring it home and bare it’s babies, man!

One very minor concern, the pose of the forward thrust paw on the lion looks just a little awkward to me. Maybe rotate it just a touch to point upwards a little more.

Beautiful image Glenn!

I like this last one. A demonic dance.
Have you tried the new transform [W] tool? Holding alt, try to drag the middle or the other points. You can deform wings easily.
Thanks for the compliment SD, BTW I posted the sss shader, try it. You need to have 1-2 lights with sss enabled on them, SSS enabled on BPR palette as well.

Thank you Spiritdreamer for the amazing reference of the anatomy book of Burne Hogarth! I will take it as a reference by each sculpt to get the anatomy real tight
Can wait seeing more of your new works and thanks for everything.
Cheers,
Kenny

Thanks VoodooDad :)…Yep that paw was bothering me too…so I fixed it…LOL

Michalis…Thanks Man, and …Hey Thank You for all the great tips…I haven’t tried ether of those suggestions that you put forth …yet…but I for sure will.:):+1:…So much new stuff to explore and have fun with…ZBRUSH sure has come a long ways, and in a relativly short time…Hard to keep up…for me anyway.

Kenny…:)…You are more than welcome…My Pleasure in fact…I hope you get alot of enjoyment and use from his books…I know that I have over the years…Still reaching for them whenever I have a problem figuring something out on a figure that i’m working on…I know that I can always find the answer in one of his books…They have never let me down yet…no matter what the problem may be…
Thanks Again guys…:):+1:

Just having some more fun here.

Hi Glenn, Excellent!

It is really coming along very well.

I have been very busy getting things together for my trip, I need to spend some time with Zbrush! Cheers, David

Hi David…Hey… Thank You :)…I was about to call it a day for today myself, and take Lickety Split for a nice long walk and get some fresh air, and away from this computer for awhile… Addicted…LOL:D
I hope that you will still be able to do some artwork while over in Africa…Would be a good way to take your mind off of the days work… I can only imagine what it must be like, and I would imagine that working with burn victims must take an emotional toll by the time the day is over, rewarding i’m sure, but still a heavy toll on the emotional side…It’s a great and very much needed service you are doing…and for that alone, you have my Respect and Admiration Man.:+1:small_orange_diamond:)
I hope to hear from you before you leave, but if I don’t…Well, I wish you a Safe Journy my Friend.:+1: and Thanks Again for all of your help and support along my journy.
Take Care David… :+1:small_orange_diamond:)
Glenn

P.S. …Don’t Forget Your Camera :D:D:D

Hi Glenn, Thanks so much for your good wishes! I am not leaving until first weeks of March, so you are stuck with me for a while.

I am taking my new ipad with me but no 3D or 2.5D on my part until I return. Burn care is intense and will be even more so in Sub-Saraha Africa, however it is so rewarding that at the end the day I feel a few inches taller and sleep like a baby! The reward is in the doing!

I will be documenting the entire trip, can’t forget that camera  . Publicity is important. We are hoping that we can go back and each time have more funding in order to stay longer and bring a larger group.

I will try and post something tonight after I watch the Knicks drub the Celtics! LOL

Thanks my friend! Cheers, David

Hey David…Great,…your not leaving for awhile.:+1:…So there’s Plenty of FiberMesh Playtime left then…
Looking forward to see what you come up with between now and the time you take off…Always a visual adventure…:+1:small_orange_diamond:)
