Nice woodcarving and surprising compositions!

THANKS Bas…Just dreaming out loud…and dreams are always full of surprises…at least mine are…

I did this Z Brush painting awhile back after watching a documentary on the origin of the female AMAZON WARRIOR legend…The legend was traced back to Tibet or Mongolia …Now I can’t remember for sure which of the two places it was, but there was a feirce female horse culture…Some of their graves were found, including the Queen of the tribe…with her horse buried with her.
Anyway, I found it pretty interesting, and amazing how every legend is based in fact somewhere along the long line of history…in this case…herstory…
I just started a sculpture which is going to be basically like the Z Brush painting I did awhile back, but will be in 3D sculptural form instead…should keep me busy for awhile I think…
Crits, suggestions, opinions will be very much welcomed and appreceated…

groetjes perpetual:)

THANKS Perpetual 1969. …CRAZY…Been there/done that…A nice place to visit, but I wouldn’t want to live there.LOL:lol: …Well too much LDS IN THE 1960’S as Captaint Kirk would put it…and lots of other TABOO’S IN MY CASE…BUT LUCKILY JUST ENOUGH to see what’s around the bend, and still be able to make it back in time to appreceate the FINALE…

Playing with the pose and the transpose…Got to love this stuff…AMAZING.
I especally love the strong smooth brush…Works great on the figures joints after I screw them up while transposing and then am able to still refine them again with the clay tubes brush afterwards…Just like sculting in reality…

did you used transpose master!?
i feel the transpose line not friendly.

Hi Cherry Pig… …Not sure what you are talking about…TransposeMaster/Line
I just have the horse and then the woman as its subtool…I use the transpose feature to change the position and pose/gesture of both the horse and the woman as i’m working on them…Any rough spots that occur during the changes, I just smooth over and use the clay tubes brush to resulpt those rough areas…and then smooth over again where needed.
I sculpt in the round, always moving the figure around as I sculpt, refining whatever needs to be refined to siut the figures pose/gesture…same as I would in real life.I made the woman bigger to be in the right proportion to the horse, which is a small Mongolian type of horse and not a huge Belgian or Clydsdale type of horse.
Anyway,…still a long ways to go with this piece yet…and I’d really appreceate any feedback along the way…

thank you so much!! befor I always want to save trouble .so i cant reposed in my mind…:small_orange_diamond:)

Cheers for your posts.

Thanks Cherry Pig… I wasn’t sure if what I wrote would be of any use to you, but i’m glad to hear that it was…
I think the whole idea of the new features in Z Brush is to allow the artist to expess their creativity first and worry about the technical aspects of their creations later…at least that’s my understanding of the direction the program is heading and evolving into…which is great for old school artist like myself…

Further along with this AMAZON WARRIORESS Sculpture WIP…Still a long ways to go with it yet.
