New Works

This starting to look very nice!:+1:
I really like the way this composition has progressed, thanks for showing us

Bas…Hey Thank You… Some stories should and must be told, even if it must and means upsetting some people,…as you well know…

Santis…Thank You…There is so much more to art than technical perfection that ends up being perfectly boring. Life is imperfect, and art is after all a reflection of life. Without a full understanding of the basics to start with,…it’s just souless spectacle. If my works help anyone see that, then it’s been worth while posting them in this forum.
Just playing a minor role and bit part in this forum of stars …but hey,…every little bit helps someone,…somewhere…in some way…maybe…hopefully…anyway…

tell me you’re gonna do something with that woman and child, because this is coming out smashingly. Seriously, I’m loving it. I would love to see you do more portraiture like this. like in the Rembrandt vein. I love it.

Framedworld…Thank You. I was going to call it a day on this one, and start something new,…but hey, you got me interested…so why not push it further. …It’s all for my own personal pleasure and learning and is a good one to practice what i’ve learnt and am learning on…Thanks for the kind words and encouragement…Much appreceated… :+1:

Wip. Sketch
Used the beautiful face from the female model that eof shared in his sketchbook thread…and also used the male head model that he shared for Zapata’s face after modifying it. I want to give him the full credit due, and also thank him again for sharing his great models in this forum… :+1:

Did you give the kid a Moustache?

It’s beautiful :+1:

GRIN!
I think he gave “the kid” a future.

I could not have said it better

JUNE 18, 2011

Santis… …No muoustache…just a shadow from an underlying layer showing through…but thanks for pointing it out.:+1: …I was just to tired to mess with it before I posted…was mainly concened with getting a Rembrandt type of color and light scheme going on in the image…will fix and put in any details needed at the very end

Bas…Thank You…Coming from you, that means alot to me…

Mealea Ying…Thank You…You put into words perfectly what I am trying to get across to the viewer with this image…:+1:

Magical :+1:

the woman and child don’t feel grounded, other than that, your best piece to date

JUNE 20, 2011

Cherub…Hey… Thank You

Framedworld…Thank you… An easy fix…I’ll get around to it somewhere along the line  …Thanks for pointing it out…:+1:

I’m feelin this one, but only if you can tone down the exposure on the background a bit. Seesh, and they all doubted you:P

JUNE 21, 2011

Framedworld…Thank You  Too many to choose from. There are some things in each version that I like, and it’s just fun learning from, exploring and experimenting with each of those things…kind of layes the groundwork for the next piece that I work on…
About those few who doubted me…All I can say is live and learn from your mistakes…

Going with these two versions…I just like the way they feel…Will refine them further with some good old fashioned brush work.

I like the atmosphere and feeling in the purple versions, keep it up!

I agree with mutte, the prurple one has so much atmosphere, the last ones are a bit too saturated for my taste.

JUNE 22, 2011

Mutte 696…Thank You for the visit and opinion…Very Much Apreceated, Welcomed and Valued…Will see what I can do,…don’t want to lose the image in all that atmosphere…Will try to find a happy medium.

Santis …Thank You… …I agree…But it’s hotter than hell down in Mexico…trying also to capture that feeling in this piece…

Starting to turn these two versions into paintings…some old fashioned brush work with color on the brush  Been awhile since I actually painted anything…been too busy trying to learn all of these fancy and very special effects that ZBRUSH offers  Need to get back to my roots, before I forget my way home, and all of the pleasures that it offers.
