Looks more like a sexy plumbing erotica dream to me…and yes makes me an Aries too ( we conquer all and burn so bright in the constellation of Betelgeuse ) quote Blade Runner. We have a Foster Care Home for Challenged Adults for the last 22 years, so yes I’m still in the Medical/psychatric field…Funny thing I take myMaggy out late every night for a walk, Its quiet and Peaceful then…The Old tyme Bike parts are very interesting by the way…small_orange_diamond

Hi Deke,
Thanks, I am glad you liked the last piece … I love that everyone can bring something different to these pieces. Realism is great but I have had that experience for almost 40 years with my photography … here I like to do something else! Oh, Glad you enjoyed the bike as well!
Sounds as though you are doing good work in working with those challenged adults! I worked as a volunteer at a 24/7 Suicide Hotline for three years in NYC. The year I left we had almost 70,000 callers, it was an amazing experience!
Cheers, David
Hi Glenn,
Locomotive eh, I love how these are something different to everyone … glad you like it, thanks! Cheers, David
A ceramic steam punk LOL.
Great composition! I love it.
Have you tried groboto app? http://www.groboto.com/v3/
Edit: Oh, I missed this. #197. Beautiful.
Problem with groboto is it costs Money…
I played with the demo it is really cool…
Hi Michalis,
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the Faux Steampunk and the bicycles! I do know groboto, I was actually using the app five or six years ago, it may have even been in Beta at that time. Cheers, David
Weeee , love that latest roller coaster…
If you have a beta of groboto sure would love to try it out…
Speaking of rain, its blowing rain parralell to the ground here, predicted for the next week or so…Yahoo Oregon Sunshine here at last…
Hi Deke,
Sorry that was at least five years ago. At that time the program was more of a “toy” you could not export geometry and after you created something cool all you could do was a screen grab. Groboto is very interesting now. There is a 30 trial with no restrictions, I am playing a bit with it now. The software is around forty bucks as I recall.
When I was an animator less than 20 years ago it was very expensive to get into the game … I had an SGI Indigo 2 Extreme, a monster in it’s day … one 125mh processor with 8 geometry engines … price tag $54,000, I was running Alias Power Animator (the pre-cursor to Maya) basic program, Power modeling, Advanced Animation modules - $45,000
My next to last image, the one that look like a steampunk engine or locomotive had a groboto element in it.
Cheers,
David
Obviously a Machine to core Apples…am I right " I chuckle snarfly " Its either that or an Alchemists machine for processing gold from Quicksilver…;)
Rube Goldberg run amok!
I really don’t know from where they come! Did you ever try the Groboto 30 day trial? Cheers, David
Very very nice!!!
Why not a pure 3d?
Why do some paint with oils and another with watercolor?
This is just what I am doing now. I have been working in 3D for over 25 years … Alias Sketch, Power Animator, Electro Gig 3D, Maya (Beta tester) C4D (Beta tester) Xfrog, Modo. They are all a different paradigm from Zbrush which I am still learning.
Even when I was working in other 3D apps I was mostly doing abstract works. I guess if I want photo real stuff I take a photo (have a look at my website) , I am also a very good compositor I was using PS when it was in alpha and before that I used Barco Creator on a Unix Workstation.
All this could change of course.
Cheers my friend!
Watercolor is my favorite medium LOL
In 3d apps sculptris is my equivalent to a watercolor medium. Direct and fast as hell.
Anyway lot of fur is coming soon, I was just saying.
Great images, whatever medium you use. And your 2.5 d creations are getting better and better.
Hi Michalis,
I think you hit the nail on the head … I love 2.5D because it is like a sketch … quick and forgiving, and the great things is that I have all the tools if I want to re-visit these themes and give them a shot in 3D. I feel so lucky to be part of this Zbrush community and have such talented and caring neighbors like yourself. In 35 years as a professional photographer I really never experienced the kind of sharing as there seems to be among painters, Illustrators, animators, sculptors! Sad but true.
Thanks so much for your opinions, guidance and friendship! David
Hey Chalkman…I like your blue sketch so well I am using it for wallpaper on Desktop…That should explain how much I like that one in particular…
as for painting hmmm I was taught at U of Maine that ALL mediums are the same, that is they are there for you to express yourself with whatever works best…
Me I like Sulptris for the beginning bringing an idea to life and then any other app available to further explore and to polish it for presentation…
Of course that doesn’t mean I allways do that, ( chuckle snarf snarf )
