New Character

Heres a new character ive been working on. i started it 1 week ago exactly. so i still need to finish the hands, and some more armor. he is based on a spawn character. started in zspheres, then brought into maya for serious per vertex tweaking, then back into zbrush to use its powerful tools to move large masses around with falloff . i find myself using zbrush more and more as more than just a displacement tool but as a serious sculpting package.

Hope you all enjoy it. i want to make a tutorial next.
I will be finishing the models cage tommorow and should have his zbrush displacement details in by mid week. maybe i save my zscript while i do that and share. zspheres.jpg

“maybe i save my zscript” is this blackmail !
It would be interesting to hear from a pro like you when you are using and why you are using Zbrush in your workflow, and what part Maya played in this detailed and cool looking model:+1:

Good work Elfufu!
Impressive

Excellent stuff! :+1:

I dont like the cables… but is a good character… will you add more details??

The feets need more work— ( i think)

Zalu2!

i like this concept very much. The body and the metal parts are very well done.

great work elfufu. it be sweet to see him textured and posed. keep up the good work!

dado

this is great… were the metal parts and tubes modeled in another package and re-imported to zbrush? it still boggles me how people make such hard looking edges in zbrush

thanks guys the metal pieces are all 100% maya, i use zbrush now only for organic stuff.

…of creature
Pilou
Ps I know that maya is unlimited but Zbrush can make also similar mechanical pieces
You have never seen art of Ztevie Rae ?
This one for for example  Yet 2 Years ago
Or again this One !
Seems the brother of your :sunglasses:

I love the design so far, get those hands finished
May I ask you what were your render settings in Zbrush (I assume you rendered it out of zbrush) because I love this grey render, simple, yet effective
Keep the good work Elfufu !

Very good!

i have used maya 5 - 3ds max - lightwave - softimage - blender … most of them all in the one month …please please tell me how to do such great work

badass, I have this spawn figure on top of my computer. nice work so far

personally, i would use some of that money you have to take a couple of 3d modeling/animation classes. because i mean damn, that’s what- $15,000 USD worth of software? that’s like a year’s worth of full-time tuition.

you didn’t tell me you blocked that out in zpheres. I thought you started directly in maya. looking good, looking forward to seeing the zbrush details

ya i started in zspheres but then spent ALOT of time working on the loops as you know, zoppi

gotta have good loops so he’ll deform correctly when whooping up on little kiddies

oh and can you bring in that PDF file and model for me to look at

This is a very good model. I really like how you sculpt it so well. Can we see teh textured version?
