Excellent modeling, Miguel! I want an action figure of this guy. I like all the details on his hardware too.

Fantastic. I am a firm believer that the world needs more bloated scary bad guys.

You mentioned that you spent a lot of time working on edge loops. Can you please show some pictures of the topology? Also, if you could add some commentary about it then that would be even better. If you’re not too busy I would really be interested in learning a little bit more about that stage of the process.

Thanks!

very nice!!!

thanks…he never really got to a level i would have liked him to get to but i just got bored with him… hers my process which i would NOT use now…
took me about 1 1/2 weeks

1.zspheres
2.back to maya to redo topology and take the model as far as you see here in this wire image.

back to zbrush to model superficial detail…

back to maya to render…

if i were to do it now i ouwl no doubt have done it faster, better form, and would have done in Silo all the topology.

heres a turntable of how far i got into the design before zbrushing itwire.jpg

amazing work, although thats alot of import export tax, ok bad joke lol but still a very good piece of work you got there:+1: :+1: :+1:

Come on elfufu…i know u can do better stuff than that. i wanna be really wowed next.

(for all of u reading… i know this guy)

looks cool, i was looking forward to seeing the entire project you and alex had planned, i thought it would have been great…oh well. you’ll have to show me your silo workflow next time i see you dude

Thanks.

One quick question. Why silo for the topology? Is it the topology brush or other features?

Thanks.

yes for topology brush only

hi
it’s a fantastic model

just a short question for you
do u model the hardsurface in maya or zbrush?

if you do in maya? do u do the detailing on zbrush or you just go further in maya? I am asking about your hardsurface (accessories) not the creature model

thanx

all hardsurface is in maya, i dont even touch it in z

Great work! I would be very interested in seeing a close up of your face mesh, particularly the eye area.

I have been looking into various 3-D packages. And have narrowed my search down to Maya pretty much; $8 thousand, gezzzzz. Please tell me why you say you would have obviously done all the topolgy in Silo apparently before you were aware of these benefits. How is it stronger and or faster than Maya?

My experiments in Silo have been very frustraiting as some of the basics simply will not work for me, one come to mind is the Split Cut. Maybe I should check it out again, turning off anti-aliasing helped with some things.

Hi Stephen…

the topology brush in silo is a great feature cuz it lets you be free to create a base model (yes, keeping an eye on topology) freely without worrying to much about topology cuz with the brush you can fix what you don’t like later.

I hope they come out with the 1.4 beta soon.

Thanks AmINuts,

I will try the new demo when it is released. Tons of potential and customizable, just a bit buggie for me so far. I never did get around to toying around with that topology brush. I think I will download it again soon just to do just that.

That looks very cool. Would like to see it when it is completed. Great job

great work! Where is the tutorial ?? :))
