great model (female in red)!
One question, though ---- the rubber band, any purpose??

Nice anatomy studies! :+1:

Thanks!

@zaphod
not sure why your comment isn’t appearing in the thread proper, but anyway – the ‘rubber band’ is just a quick stand-in for actual suspenders in the reference photo. I didn’t feel like sculpting them, but needed something for the pose.

Hi Nagulov

Nice anatomy. I don’t know if you’ve considered, but wouldn’t there be a slight variation in the muscle tension in the arms, especially the one pulling on the band/suspenders. Just a thought.

nice work.

Really nice studies. I especially like the female’s back.

@Treece
Huh, you could be right - I followed the photo quite closely, but I see what you mean. Any imperfections are entirely my fault, the lady herself is quite anatomically correct. :wink:

And it’s an other great one !

One thing bothers me though, the very straight/frontal/symmetric head. Specially in the front view of your zbrush screengrabs.
Also the position of the head compare to the neck from this same view looks a bit off. There’s like a very slight shift on the left. It’s working much better when seen from the back though.

Except that, nice one, thanks a lot for sharing your work ^^

EDIT : My bad, I just watched myself in a mirror and there’s no mistake between the neck and the head ! It was a bit painful but correct !!! Haha sorry about that !

Nice studies…and nice process thanks for shared.:+1:

@Bhushan
thanks man!

@Boulp
From the front there shouldn’t be any major structural problems, as the sculpt matches the reference quite closely. From any other view, I take full responsibility. :wink: And yes, you are right, the face is entirely symmetrical – I tried to shift some features around a bit, but I wasn’t feeling it, so in the end left it as it is.

I can only compy and paste my reflections. But to be more creative while posting here, will ask you something;)

Where do you take your refs from? Are they from site like posespace or 3d.sk, or randomly googled shoots?
How do you deal with sculpting hands in dynamesh?

Would love to see more of your workkflow. A time lapse or something more than wip shoots would be great,

Oh hey tnx for the questions!

Where do you take your refs from?

Just random googling. Recently I’ve discovered Pinterest, which is like a curated google where other people have already done the hard work for you.

How do you deal with sculpting hands in dynamesh?

When I want separate fingers I sculpt the palm first, then I make one complete finger, then duplicate and adjust until it looks good. Finally I just dynamesh the whole thing together. When I can’t be bothered, I just sculpt a lump into something resembling a hand, as in this last piece. If it looks good at viewing distance, I’m happy. Since these are all for practice, I don’t bother with t-pose, or being tidy.

Would love to see more of your workflow. A time lapse or something more than wip shoots would be great.

I’m a bit too self-conscious for now. Like I mentioned, I just brute-force my way through the valley of the suck until it starts looking good. It takes mental fortitude not to give up when you’ve spent 2 hours pushing lumps around and still have an ugly misshapen golem to show for it. The other issue is technical - I don’t have recording software, and Zbrush’s undo-saving feature quickly makes the files huge, which take forever to load.

Still, it’s something I’m looking into, if only to show other aspiring folks on here that simple perseverance gets you results!

I really dig your workflow and the results are awesome, thanks for sharing.

Great works. I really love it all studies…

Thanks for the reply!

So you mix photos of different women to get your result, right? One main photo and the rest that are similar for the main pose? Am I right?
Prety straight forward :wink:

This is hardly ideal, but I looked through my files today trying to find some with an intact undo history.
Didn’t find much, just bits and pieces, but maybe these help or inspire someone.

@nebular
yes, I mixed and matched photos – this time. Usually I don’t, which is not a good approach. That’s why you can usually tell which side I had reference for, and where I just winged it.

Great feel and skills in greating these ones, inspiring! :+1:

beautiful studies, nagulov…

man your anatomy skills are magnificent.;);):wink:

Thanks a lot guys! It would be great if these are of any help to anyone.

@Diablo
thanks man, though I would say they’re merely adequate at best.

Wonderful work. Looking forward to watching the videos!
