My ZBrush Projects.

Hi everyone,
Lots of things have happened since I posted my “Pan” head. Now I’ve been working full time in ZBrush for about three weeks. The more I learn about ZBrush the more I love it! I’m currently working on my first digital assignment. I will take it as far as I can in ZBrush, and then after I get the print out I’ll take care of the minor adjustments in a traditional way. Sorry that I can not discuss the nature of the project or show pictures of it. But when the time comes, I will be posting images of it here.

Now,the stuff that I work on my own, that I can show! Here it is a project that I started for the Scary Silly contest, but due to lack of free time I could not finished. I drew my concept based on one of my favorite childhood heroes Herman Munster. I used the generic head from ZBrush, and morphed in to my character.

I started sculpting with no reference. I thought that I could remember the way he looks, but I ended up with I cool Boris Karloff likeness instead.

So, I went and looked for some Herman Munster reference. I found a few good ones on the net, but the best ones turned out to be, DVD Caps I got from my DVD Library.

Hey Gabriel, he’s looking great so far! I am glad you are doing a Herman Munsterish version, you are getting a lot of character here. I especially like the eyes and mouth so far.

Heather

This is how it looks now, I still have to work on the hair and body. I will post more pics as I progress.

Happy ZBrushing!!

hello,

very funny and nice …!!
i prefer your first one, this one looks like having a hat on the head … ?

This Toony version of Mr. Frank is really funny, expressive and very very well done!
It’s a new reference for me!
:+1: :+1: :+1:
Thanks for posting!

ciao

Nice toon…I can relate to the Munster, I did one a while back: http://www.pixolator.com/zbc/showthread.php?p=310148#post310148

Batsquawk: Thank you Heather, I’m glad you liked it.

petter dominique: I was trying to exagerate the head, maybe I should tone it down a bit before adding the hair.

guti: Thanks man.

pride: I just saw your version and it is very good! Is it Me or the little doll resembles a little bit of Rick Baker? Good job!

Hi Everybody,
Just a little update on my Herman project, I roughed the body using a ZSphere. Using the Retopology tool, I created two new subtools, the shirt and the jacket. I’ve been playing around with different custom made alphas for the skin texture, but I haven’t found what I’m looking for yet.

Very Nice Caricature Gabriel!!! I love it! :+1: :sunglasses:

Love the character in him!

He kinda looks like a Fred Astaire Frankie!

Haha! His looking awesome! What a cool charicature!

Very funny MonkeyMuscle:D!

Here is my first official ZBrush project for Gentle Giant, The Freddy Krueger Diorama. This project involved a lot of different elements, and it proved to be a tough cookie for Me to chew on! It was a little bit overwhelming. We had a very tight deadline and I couldn’t take too long on the Digital modeling because I still have to care of the traditional sculpting once the model gets print-out. I wasn’t as resourceful as I am today on the program so there was a lot of trial and error going on.

But I am lucky to count with the amazing advice of my good friend Brandon Lawless, who has become my ZBrush Mentor literally! With out his valuable help, this project would have taken even longer, he even let Me use the hat that he sculpted for another project in order to save Me more time(Thanks Man, I owe you big time).

This project was done in Dec 2007, ever since I have added a few more ZBrush projects under my belt and I have to say that my skills have gotten better since. I am specially proud of the project that I’m currently working on, oh boy! when I get clearance to show it(probably after Comic Con) you guys are going to love it!
It takes Me longer to produce new stuff because like I said before, I also take care of the analog part of the procedure. Traditional sculpting is my first love and I won’t quit on it, but Digital has become my second best!

Happy ZBrushing!!!

Heather

Great Freddy model. The dolls on the floor look great also. :+1:

Batsquawk: Thank you for your support Heather, you are very kind. And I wish
to see your stuff here someday, you are an amazing artist.
Everybody will agree with Me once they get to see your work.
Don’t be shy and do it!

Giantsun: Thank you.

Rouncer: Yes it was, but I learned a lot from it!
