awesome…
drags me in…
Well the wait is almost over. Great work. Can’t wait for the light and texture, ok, ok, I’ll wait, grudgingly.
This is cool! what a lot of work you have put into this. Great job!
Wow, this is so Grand! I just love your test compo. Looking real sweet!
Wonderful! In terms of the narrative/composition, my favourite part is the tower … most of the tarot characters are (quite rightly) aloof and timeless, but the angle of the tower, peering over the edge, shows this journey isn’t the norm. Despite themselves, the fates are intrigued … what will happen?
I read this post with much pleasure. work is remarkable and the wild imagination.
stunning work, man. your energy and dedication to your project makes me want to jump out of my chair and paint my wacom to shreds
edit: I just got markermaster since you mentioned it so often here. I think I’m going to cry, this is so good!
You’ved saved the best till last.
Thank you for your comments people!
The dimensions for this image are 3125X4096 px. In the small size that I post here, many details are lost, but in the end I will post high res, detail samples.
I finished all the renderings I will need for my post production stage. I will do a matte painting for the sky. Here you can see my renderings and the final, layered composition that results by mixing those renders, using layers, blends and masks in Photoshop. Shadows and local lights are not yet in place.
This is the only stage done outside Zbrush. In the next stage I will take it back to Zbrush, and I will use the 2.5D tools to paint, correct and complete the image.

This is gonna be great. I can feel it.
Absolutely wonderful! Can’t wait to see a high res version.
Nice details, reminds me of Innuendo of Queen.
This is stunning and inspirational. Following along your journey and looking at how you composed the image makes me want to pick up a more complex theme myself than my usual doodles. The only thing I regret is that I can only vote once with 5 stars 8-).

The post production stage has begun! I use exclusively Zbrush for this. ZB’s post production and matte painting capabilities are just amazing but often overlooked. During this stage I am using ALL of the 2.5D tools to achieve a hybrid look and feel. With ZB I think the borderline between a 3D and a 2D still image is fading to nothing.
Since the Fool is the protagonist of my image, I started with him. This is now the only section of the image that is done.
lemonnado: Thanks. You should know that your zeebling doodles were my inspiration for many of the things you see in this image.
Soyseitan: Right on! That is what this image has been reminding me all along. i just realized it when you mentioned it!
marcus_civis: Thanks. About the high rez: I just wish I had heard from you earlier during this process.
vlad74: Thank you. It seems that some of you co-Zbrushers have more faith in this image than I.

HA, faith in the image?!.. I really love it. All the elements fit together in style, the story is great and not flat as it is often in competitions, the perspective is fabulous, the tarot theme to convey the message and to add a level of myth and magic… I really like it a lot. I don’t want to look as if I am over enthusiastic but this is really something.
The magical map would have been a gret choice to. I love that idea as well. However, that idea would not have been so sophisticated as the chosen one containing the journey of life. But I really like that idea with the magical map… Maybe I borrow that idea and make something with ZBrush and VUE5 which would be excellent for the map… If you don’t mind
