Wow…the print turned out to be spectacular!~ Super super cool!
Dr. Root is back, and better than ever! Nice print! How’d they do all those little roots?
Man that is just out of it to see it in the flesh! And it’ll will be even better for you because you get to keep it. The amount of hours you have spent rotating it around sculpting it and then to be able to rotate it out here in the real world will be a real trip! I was going to nag you about it, whether or not you had recieved it yet. How much did it cost you? or is it a part of the competition winnings? Also do you like using your modbook? I’ve never heard of one until I found out you won one. Then I researched it on youtube lol!
Thanks for posting those print shots Chris! They are awesome, well… great to see talent and hard work pay off
. Mmm, I somehow missed the hulk post; looking great
.
wow seriously Ownage are the best and to top it off the best priced option - it turned out awesome!
Aliasfx -Thanks!
aiman - heh heh, thanks! yes, back to the hulk project.
SolidSnakexxx - Thanks, Yong!
Webhead - Thanks! They took actual twigs and covered them in latex. Insane, right?
SadamHu - Thanks a lot! Yeah it is a trip holding it in front of me after only seeing it on a screen. It’s really cool to have done. It’s 13" tall so it wasn’t cheap. Although omething that size is usually under $1000 with Ownage. They really give you the most for your money, so yeah it wasn’t part of my prize. I’m loving the modbook. It’s so nice to be able to draw and sculpt wherever I go.
Etcher - thanks!
Intervain - Hey thanks Magdalena! Yeah I saw what a good job they did on your priestess sculpt and it turned out awesome as well. Just another reason to go with Ownage!
Our latest theme for the Robot blog was ‘saturday morning cartoons’ so I thought it would be fun to make a Panthro bust. I started with my hulk torso, pushing and pulling so that his proportions weren’t so hulkish (although his hands are still SUPER huge I built all his gear and spikes from basic primitive shapes and by extracting sections from the torso. I didn’t want to redesign him but there were certain things I didn’t like about the original that I wanted to adjust like the spikes on his gear. They were really thin and flimsy looking in the cartoon so I bulked them up and shortened them. The other thing was his nose. In the cartoon they have very human-looking noses but I thought it would be cooler to make his nose more cat-like. I found a thundercats font for the base which was convenient.
Hope you guys dig it!
