Holy ZSpheres Batman! Phenomenal!
A dream come true really. Well, one of many Z dreams anyway.
I used to live here at ZBC, long ago, back since the 1.55b days. Now with Z’s enhanced features, it just might make me live here again. Its been a long time but C’est La Vie hu. Can’t wait to get my hands on Z3.5 and the new Zif-II workflow.
I too have to admit that I have really never liked unified skinning and hope that Ofer and the Zcrew have come up with a hybrid of Uni and Adaptive skinning for this new Zif II style modeling/sculpting. I am pretty sure I won’t be disappointing though. Thinking of not only the new Z3.5 adaptive algorithm as well as what they have acomplished with Decimation Master, I feel pretty hopeful for the new mesh generation.
As for Boolean functionality, that is something we Gray Ghosts have been talking and thinking about since 2001. Knowing now what I know about Pixologic, just give them time. One thing to learn about these laudable guys is, though they take their time with features and updates, they always amaze and revolutionize. It takes a long time to make good, clean, smooth, fresh orange juice…lol…and, for Ofer and the gang…the juice is worth the squeeze. No matter how long that may be to get a savory glass full.
Keep at it yall! I’m like a kid at Christmas again.
Bravo.

I wish they would put their brains on matte painting.
But this is really good stuff. I don’t under stand the 3.5 and 4.0 stuff tho
Is 4.0 pushed back now?
NM
I don’t want to know
great job guys.

Not much to say… but WOW!! 3 new features that just blow my mind. I love the noise ability. I think that will really come in handy for those of us that like using the poly painting tools!! WOOT!!
you guys have the MAGIC
Wow
whoa!
WOW!
The noise feature will just make things too easy
wow i see where this noise thing is going, procedural texturing integrated with masking abilities omg!! Next thing we need for this is a hypershade to control the procedural textures!
This is fantastic guys, i love it!
Mudbox would be a lot better if it was zbrush.
This is just crazy! Love it!
Wonder if they change or add more Render-Abilities. Like V-ray or whatever.
I hope it comes out with a grouping tool so I can name groups effectively and export them. That is one thing that would help me in Poser character creation. Any ideas on this?
man these videos are always just dripping with cheese…
hearing about a GoZ delay two days before it was supposed to come out is not something i wanted to hear.
well now can mudbox top that hehe:D btw love the new zsphere keep it up guys it rocks
Great job Pixologic
Im really looking forward to the update…the new stuff looks amazing!
Keep up the good work chaps…a few more features videos wouldn’t go a miss either
wow !
pixologic , you rock !
a griiid, a griiiiiiiiid…G…R…I…D…WHOOAAA
It sounds to me like Windows will get 3.5 soon and GoZ will follow a few weeks later perhaps as a plugin separate from 4. I’m really not expect to see 4 'til the very end of this year or perhaps January. I hope they can stay on schedule but it’s better to be ‘stable’ than sorry.
The more I love Zbrush. the only problem is my skills need some upgrade.
Great job Pixologic, can’t wait to play with the real program.
Insane!
That’s exactly right, Nemoid. I was simply thinking about the Z4’s sculpting tools that we’ve been able to observe so far and how they relate to what you can do with real clay. The new workflow makes use of tools that truly better mimics how one builds up and manipulates real clay to achieve the final sculpt. That was when the whole ‘hole’ thing came to mind. I reattached those examples for those that don’t get what we’re talking about that was slapped together in 3D Coat using voxels and the sphere brush. So far, it seems there’s no way to directly subtract from a mass in Z4 to this degree. Definitely, NOT a deal breaker though. I pretty much agree with your assessment of 3D Coat, ZBrush and Mudbox.
What’s really gets me excited about Z4 is that every time we’re introduced to a new feature, someone replies, “Pix’ is just getting started, you haven’t seen anything yet”. If that’s the case, then Z4 will be a stellar release.
It would really make up for that lame @ss Maya release.
Oops!..Did that just slip out.
