The Monster Project is a wonderful scheme, created and run by [Katie Johnson] (https://www.behance.net/katiemadethat). In a nutshell, a group of kids create an whole host of brilliant beasts, then a bunch of professional artists around the world create fan art of their creature creations. This is my fifth year taking part (you can see my previous efforts here, here, here and here) and as always I had a huge amount of fun! This year, the original artist was a kid named Sadie from Austin, Texas. She drew this fantastic three headed green beast:
Here’s my illustration and her original design
I used Zbrush to sculpt the monster’s heads and feet and pretty much all of the little kid in the foreground.
I made a little making of video which shows some of the process of making the final illustration :
