ZB sketchbook - AJ Jefferies

cool models, really great anatomy and pose

Thanks guys! Much appreciated

It’s summer, so I made some ice cream!

IceCream_800.jpg

Ice cream scoops were sculpting in ZB, I used a couple of adjusted alphas of tree bark to get the pattern on the surface then just pulled around the rest. Rendered in 3ds Max with V-Ray.

I am a fan! :):+1:

AJ your work always makes me smile :D!

Took part in the fantastic Monster Project once again this year, such a ludicrously fun thing to be part of!

Here’s the kid’s sketch I picked:

And my fan-art of it:

Some crops:

Technical wise the modelling of the monster and the crane operator were 90% ZBrush and I used Fibermesh for the monster’s fur. Rendering was done in 3ds Max with V-Ray.

I also just got sent a photo of the original artist holding both pieces

Lovelovelove it! The photo with the happy kid really makes it complete.

Thanks Metin! It was really nice to wake up and find that photo in my inbox this morning

Wow, that’s super cute and cool. Love it!

Nice work, AJ. Like the lighting!

This is awesome! I love seeing realised versions of childrens art great job!

Wow, it’s actually been nearly a year since I posted here! At least that means I’ve had the chance to do some more work

Another year, another Monster Project. This is the brilliant monster a kid from Texas drew:

And here is my take on it:

For anyone interested, I recorded a timelapse of the ‘fur’ detailing from the undo history. For this, I created two alphas of the
strands then used drag rectangle to manually place them all over the big galoot.

I love it, beautiful picture and awesome style !
Thanks a lot for the timelapse as well ^^

Great as ever! Love it. Thanks for the timelapse. Very interesting. :+1:

That ‘Timelapse’ song is magical.
