Military Object, how to model? Which is the best way?

Hello guys,

i want to model the military object, for a character.

I want to know, which workflow you prefer? Im sitting here for about 6 hours and still don’t know how to do this object.

Should i make everything inzbruhh or for the hard surface i should go to max? Should i with clip brushes?

I don’t know how is the workflow for this. I want to make a pre rendered model, not used in games.

Could somebody help me??

  1. You would have a human sculpt in zbrush.
  2. You mask out areas of the body then you use extract to extract the clothes.
  3. Then you can divide the mesh into additonal subtools or sculpt everything at once.
  4. For hard corners use any kind of brush that pinches geometry and any kind of brush that flattens surfaces.
  5. You might also want to mask and use the transpose tools to extrude little buttons and stuff.

If you google these things I’ve mentioned you should find tutorials on how to use them, good luck.

Another way is to have the character body as a subtool in ZBrush and then use the Insert Brush. I’m fairly sure there are Insert Brushes already in ZBrush (or available from this thread: http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?170167-Insert-Multi-Mesh-Repository ) that look very similar to what you want.
