well that’s official.
wow fourth quarter of 2008. That basically means a few months after 2009…
So after 2 years us mac users will get an update. Hooray…
okay, see you guys next year then.
Well, thank God, now this whiney thread can be closed. It has made me embarassed to be a Mac User.
[Goes back to using his FREE Zbrush 3.1 upgrade on his MAC]
What’s funny is that I guarantee that there will be a bunch of people that are going be on board just because of that post. It’s not happening (for Mac).
It may be because of this “whiney thread” that you got any news at all.
As Pixologic’s logic has shown, the fact that they will make an announcement after siggraph means that they haven’t started working in the new features yet. That’s why they haven’t shown anything. They have nothing to show…
Due to their tendency to overestimate their capabilities the fourth quarter of 2008 will mean something close to 10-12 months from now.
And 6 months after that for the mac version…
So… at best… December 31st?
… for PC
There’s never going to be another Mac version. They just don’t want to announce it. Also, they aren’t going to give people refunds, why do you think they deleted the thread regarding them?
hmm… and it saye “Mac (Intel)” I guess anyone with a PPC is left out in the cold?
just be happy for the fact that they announced a mac version
I’ll say. Aurick posted in here not more than 2 minutes after creating that news thread. I bet he can’t wait to shut us up!
I’ll “shut up” when I have a new version…
not a moment sooner
They’ve had a Mac version announced forever…
Some people are easily satisfied.
Amen to that… it’s really easy to announce a Mac version but their track record shows it is MUCH more difficult to deliver.

Reminds me of Jerry Seinfeld at the car rental counter:
Jerry: I made a reservation for a mid-size, and she’s a small. I’m kidding around, of course.
Agent: I’m sorry, we have no mid-size available at the moment.
Jerry: I don’t understand, I made a reservation, do you have my reservation?
Agent: Yes, we do, unfortunately we ran out of cars.
Jerry: But the reservation keeps the car here. That’s why you have the reservation.
Agent: I know why we have reservations.
Jerry: I don’t think you do. If you did, I’d have a car. See, you know how to take the reservation, you just don’t know how to hold the reservation and that’s really the most important part of the reservation, the holding. Anybody can just take them.
Unfortunately, it appears to be too little, too late for some here. I want to believe they’ll make good on a Mac version, and I’m still willing to give them another shot to come through with one, but obviously, there have been some bridges that have been burned. People have lost faith. I really hate that it has come to this. It could have been easily avoided, too. I don’t honestly know how I feel right now, I’m just tired of venting, and need a break from all this.
(PS - Great Seinfeld stuff!)
And that’s supposed to make me feel better. Lame, Lame, Lame. Shame on you Pixologic. I was promised ZB 3.1 for mac and now they say I have to wait for 3.5. I was promised ZB 3.1 for mac and not 3.5. If Pixologic delivered on what they promised then maybe we would be using ZB 3.1 for mac right now.
If someone starts a REFUND THREAD somewhere else like at CGTalk I will be the first to sign it. All I want now is a REFUND!!!
We can safely assume that the next version of ZBrush will be out somtime next year.
If they did have a version that was coming out in December then it would surely be close to Beta by now and they would be showing some of the new features at Siggraph. Instead, they are just dangling a carrot by announcing a small blurb of “What might be”.
Siggraph is the perfect opportunity to demo your software and by not showing 3.5 on the floor lets everyone know that they are not even close.
This gives me a bit of time to save up for a cintiq and to play with the demo of Mudbox for the next 6 months and to really make up my mind whether a switch to autodesk is worth it.
The proof is always in the pudding. At this point the Pixologic Booth at Siggraph has nothing to eat. Anyone, pudding?
Autodesk 1 v Pixologic 0
Well… its good to get an official word and its good that 3.5 will be FREE. HOWEVER… We’re still months away from having a MAC version. Let us have a beta version of 3.1… IF it in fact exsists, which I highly doubt. This has definitly put a sour tatse in my mouth. Not good Pixologic… not good.
