I’m starting to think that the registered mac zbrush users are just a handful of people. If that is true, it would explain the long wait.
Anyway let’s hope it’ll be here by the end of summer.
I would be happy if we could just see beta images from the mac beta testers.
Thats all I need to make me happy.
whatsayou?
Now over a year. I used to love Zbrush but when a company tells it’s customers nothing, absolutely nothing, I lose all excitement for it. I will never buy another product with the Pixologic name on it. I’ll use other applications from anyone who cares about their community.
Imagine having a client hire you to do work for them and you can’t quite seem to get it done the way they’d like. Instead of calling and explaining the situation, or asking for more time, you say and do nothing. For over a year, even with the client calling, emailing and texting you. You have their money, you took the job but you said nothing. 13 months.
I’m done with Zbrush and I could care less about Pixologic. They obviously don’t care about me.
Yet there is a problem with the windows 3.1 that was mentioned in a message on 8-10-07 that aurick answered on 3-20-08 “This is a known issue, and will be corrected in an update after the release of the Mac version.”

The last update was six months after the windows, this is thirteen months and counting, the next will be…

" Amen to that brother " When I receive Zbrush 3.1 or 4.0 for Mac I will focus on human figures mainly contemporary celebrities
Yeah, see, it just sounds like they’re preparing a dual platform update since it’s been pushed back this far already. I’m pumped, it’ll probably be a significant step up from 3.1.
dk79, the registered Mac users are definitely only a handful of people. Most people heavily involved in 3d are on PC’s, which is their industry standard unfortunately for us. It won’t blow up within the Mac community until it spreads to illustrators and newcomers and/or more 3d apps port to Mac. Both will happen eventually. Apple is getting huge.
So when you say “contemporary celebrities” are you referring to celebrities ten years from now?
If we were only a handful do you
think we’d get 13 months of dev time?
James, I’m buying what you’re selling For some reason I do think they will blow the doors off with it, dunno why, I just have a feeling. Still doesn’t excuse this treatment. Grrrrr.

Oh, I just mean relative to the registered Windows users. Pix knows Zbrush will explode on the Mac platform, hence the 13 months. A handful in this sense is a lot, just not percentage wise. Dk79 was saying that could be a reason it’s been pushed back, which could be justifiable, especially if it’s a dual platform update. They’re still trying to get things right on the Window’s side for sure, which is their largest customer base for now.
Zbrush is far from peaking, I can tell. Which is saying a lot because it rocks already. I guarantee they’re doing a lot to it. It’s young. I can tell that this is going to be something special when they get it right. Unfortunately, that takes time. Luckily, I’m not elderly, right…
lucky indeed…
tick, tick, tick. . . . . . .
personally I dont care a bit for any windows bug, any dual platform support or any major full version release, just give me the freaking product I paid for!!
gotta watch “Anger management” again

Can you really deduce all of this, from the single fact; That pixologic are taking way longer than expected, in releasing the Mac port?
Do you have privileged access to other facts?
Sorry, I just don’t agree with the - albeit optimistic - notion that we’re waiting for something special. If that were the case why wouldn’t Pixologic announce something? Surely that’s good news and would take the heat off the interminable and unending wait for ZB3 on Mac.
If this IS the case - and we’ll get a simultaneous release of v3.x on both platforms, then I’m sure it will be very good. But it strikes me as deeply unfair to the paid-up Mac owners, some of whom have been waiting over 12 months already for any signs of movement on the Mac front.
I’m lucky - I only bought my license at the start of this year, so have only been waiting a few months, but am already getting impatient. I specifically paid the full cost of ZB2.5 in the full knowledge that v3 was coming. Soon.
I’d love to hear something - anything - from Pixologic. They have my money; I won’t take it back off them. Now how about some customer service?
In an age with terms like “Core value” within a company, Customer service is not part of that at pixologic I guess…
/bitterness grows
Lol, 40 pages and counting. For what its worth I was told a couple of weeks ago the beta testing was pretty much finished, I don’t know how much weight that statement carries given the context though. Basically, its done when its done and no amount of frustration is going to change that. Stay happy my brave little mac users
Don’t forget that there was another thread prior to this one, until it was closed due to absolute lunacy.
On a related note, the clock at the bottom of this forum is about 18 minutes slow. Seems appropriate, somehow.
I’m sure we’ll be getting it any day now… because they’ve been hard at work for a while now on the Mac release…
