Thanks Aurick, for the info.
aurick - hope you know my post was light hearted. i probably could have phrased it as a straight question considering a lot of this thread thanks for the update and all you do 'round here!
Iām sure it will be SOON.
Cheers Aurick, Great to hear something positive
Thanks Aurick. I hope itās as informative as Iām anticipating.
Iāve posted my Mudbox for mac request on the Autodesk forums
one thing I could use after all this is a dual-platform license where I can run zbrush 3.5 on 2 computers, mac at home & pc at work. Sounds fair after sending us to use pc for a year, while we wait for mac. Shouldnāt be out of the realm if they say mac & pc will from now on release at the same time.
With the mac 3.1 version of zbrush i can picture 2 programmers sitting around like george and jerry on seinfeld when they were trying to write a script for nbc.
Jerry: āAlright here we goā
George: āBig day of writing. Gonna get a lot doneā
Kramer slides into the room and their focus is lostā¦
Ah, iām kidding I know coding for mac is hard.

Alright, everyone. I just got word that the announcement about Mac Intel will be made next Friday here on ZBC.
Stay tuned.
Thanks, Canāt wait.
Oh, baby!
happy happy joy joy!
Iāll beleive that when I see it.
After the mass amounts of missed dates and broken promises.
Nothing these people say holds one ounce of weight with me.
On another note.
i would just like to point out Iām on a mac pro with vista that almost never gets booted to OSX.
I just cannot understand all the stubborn OSX users that think haviing windows on their machine automaticlly will give them a virus.
Instead of sitting on the sidelines acting better than everyone else get in the game and get some yardage.
You will not get a virus if you are not stupid and you do not click on anything crazy. Iāve ran windows for over 10 years with never getting a virus.
I really hope a mac version is released so we all can get past this silly waiting and acting like mac is better than windows or vice versa.
thank you sir!
Iām sure a few of us will still be around⦠lol
Hereās hoping next Fridayās announcement is full of good news!
Virus concern is not the reason that some of us with Macs donāt boot into Windows on our Macs. Itās not ideal to reboot into another OS every time you want to work in Zbrush. The tools should not get in the way of the work. Most people would have already invested a small fortune in other tools (for example, Photoshop) used in the workflow on one OS. There is also the hidden cost of the additional OS just to run a single application.
Not to mention all the duplicate files you have to have. Iām not talking about the model files but every other resource youāre using. Photos, textures, brushes, shaders. This is not elegantā¦
So, when?
@ jamespthornton
very nice photoshop work, mate. canāt wait to see what you do with zBrush
and i donāt remember anyone saying anything like that lately. how bout⦠i donāt want to run 2 OSs. i donāt give a crap whether itās OSX or Vista but if i have a choice, hell yeah itās OSX.
All of my goods are on Leopard, regarding software and files.
It is nice having an option, though. Iāve learned most of ZBrush 3.
Itās great that this option is even available at all!!! Otherwise, I would be ignorant to a lot of great information.
I got lucky getting a windows license free, I could see where shelling out more money could make you pass up bootcamp.
