Yes I reported this too. It seems you can only resize the canvas with proportional mode on… for now. Its very finicky.

Ken,

I got an email from Pixo support today indicating that setting compact mem to 4000 on my system (which has 7gb of ram) might help me to load one of the pc files I was attempting to open. I can report that it did fix one of them (116mb file); the other is only 36 but I’m almost certain that texture info is saved in the file and I’m seeing about having the client re-send it.

I’ve noticed as well that you can’t make a document smaller than 120 x 120. Or ZBrush crashes

Does 3.12 Run on a Mac G5 PowerPC?

OK… I’ve spent well over 5 minutes hunting for the answer, and mainly encountered a lot of noise. So, what’s the deal, are non-Intel Mac users SOL with 3.12? Seems hard to fathom.

An Intel Mac running Leopard is required for version 3.12

Hi,

I’m successfully running ZBrush on my macbook pro. Yesterday I surprised myself by buying one of the just released macbook pros.

So, now I’d like to transfer my license/registration from my old mbp to my new mbp - please note that I’m not worried about dual licensing since I’ll be relegating the old laptop to other duties.

Can you let me know what process I should follow to complete this?

Thanks!
Oluf

I’m not with Pixologic, but it looks like you can de-activate right from the menu under Plugins. You can release the activation from your old laptop, then reactivate with the new.

So how do you like the new MacBook Pro? I’m seriously disappointed that they don’t offer a matte screen.

Thanks Cometsoft, that did the trick. It was actually too easy.

About the new mbp, it’s too early for me to say. I like the latchless lid, but the monitor “hinges” are are looser - don’t think I’m explaining it very well, but if I title the keyboard away from the horizontal the lid wants to close. A minor issue I’m sure. I’m still not sure about the glossy screen - I was a bit worried about too much reflection, but so far so good. I haven’t had a chance to push it yet, but I’m certainly hoping for better performance with ZBrush and Modo.

Thanks again,
Oluf

I deactivated ZBrush on an older Mac.
I have serial number. Support emailed: just install it and enter serial number."
Where do I get the download?
Thanks in advance,
Ken B

Is it possible?

Only if you cough up the cash for 50% of an original license… Strange policy, but there it is…

…Oh… and it is a single trip only…

Hi,
I have tried the above method of generating normal/displacement maps, but I keep generating totally blank images or ones with banding lines, but never any of the model’s texture.

I have followed the steps exactly several times, both with tools with subtools and without any. My tools do not have morph targets, so as per instructions I switched to Level 1 subD, store a morph target. In order Import, I export an obj of the lowest subD, then Import…? I have done this as well as loaded the ztool again, as well as turning on the morph target then simply generating a normal, all yielding the same result.

Has anyone successful generated a normal map, and could they please help me?

Help very much appreciated!!
