Low res in max to High res in ZBrush

I suppose you are right Abyssis, it isn’t a European forum, but surely artistic expression is a big part of free speech?

Yeah no kidding if you dont want to see nudity maybe you shouldnt go to a website that has a strong focus on people sculpting human anatomy! Probobly shouldnt go to a lot of sites on the internet for that matter

of course, my friend, and this is exactly I meant:D

greetingZ from civilisation:sunglasses:

I would like really like to see a tutorial, that would be great!

Even though you don’t want to know me anymore…
I’ll just reply to this thread anyway…

Looks great…your models always have a great sense of weight
and groundedness…

…but I still think you should spend less time naked in front of the mirror:D

sorry cant give more info to this little square on my models : because this model was deleted , but i htink i wil model soon something new and if this suqare thing come s again i will post a detail description.

a big thanks to u all buddies for your angagement and help  thats n awesome community

Tortilla1  are u who i think u are? u used to work in mordor didn´t u? i´m still waiting for u to reply my mail! I hope u are all right? what are u doing? for long time we have no news from u!

hey metamesh,
i posted earlier in this forum.
im relaly interested in ths process, as im looking into this type of thing for my thesis, and researching past, present and future modelling methods to better understand the influence technology has on 3D character modeling, and i think you hae a really good method here, i really would like to hear more, and wether this process stil enables your models to animate well, displace well etc.

top stuff!!

hi baker17
For me this method works pretty well, once u hare happy with ur model u can always export the 2nd level instead of the 1st level and that one is the one that u can use to add the skeleton and add the skin, i tried with the trex and it worked well, i have to upload the animation in my webpage, once i do that u can have a look and get ur ideas, is just a small test that i did to see how the deformation with displacement would work, and it was fine!

Sounds like you got it solved metamesh, keep up the good work.

metamesh i have to say it again, THE BEST ANATOMY EVER :stuck_out_tongue:

excellent work alex, I haven’t seen a single model of yours that did blow me out of the water. Can i ask you how you did your horns, was it a mask then inflate or did you use some other method. Again awesome model cant wait to see what your come up with next.

Metamesh I am a big fan of your work just wanted to ask how much time do you spend on a model?

high new2zbrush!
thanks for ur words, really appreaciated! about the time i spend on a model…difficult to say, i work full time, live with my girl etc etc so not that much time to do things at home! i haven’t done a thing since i posted this last model so maybe i will work on a model for a week in the evening and then i will stop for a month… then couple of days back then another 2 weeks without doing a thing!..is pity, i’ve got some other characters ready to start, but there is no time! :cry:small_orange_diamond:cry:

hey metamesh wicked sculpting, very very realistic…I understand how there arent enough hours in they day, after full time work and goin to the gym, i want to go home and learn some more on Zbrush but then the girlfren wants to spend time so that leaves me with like 1-2 hrs to do my own stuff and im left with 5 hours to sleep …

nice work keep it up aye!

Very nice work. You know human anatomy very very well… I really envy that, but Im still workink on it :D…

Now the question: How the hell do you manage to export the model from 3D Max (obj format, right???) and still get a nice poly subdivision in ZB??? All Im getting is ugly (flower like - i guess quads or smth) geometry, impossible to work with… it deforms my mesh with wrinkles… I add an image for you to see what im talking about. The model in the image is divided once in ZB after beeing imported as an low poly OBJ model from max.

Any help would be much apreciated :frowning:

avoid triangles…they are evil…keep it quads…if you ahve to use triangle, hide them in part you dont see…try to keep you edje loops tidy …and the shoul d change your life

wow wtf is that
mmm…is it possible that ur mesh is not quads, but is all in triangles? that would do a kind od subdivision like the one that u have…

Nope…those are quads alright. The only time I’ve seen a “flower” pattern like this is when you use a decimation tool on a high resolution 3d scan. Nibiru, is this a straight .obj export out of Zbrush?

–Jim

That looks like no quads mesh I ever saw…weird. Hope you get that straighten but I would really take a look at the exporter options cause either that or the app gone bonkers…
