Low res in max to High res in ZBrush

Thats what happens when you subdivide tri’s. See how the darker edges still show the triangles each divided into 3 quads. You need to export your model as quads.

I finally got the whole thing to subdivide niceley !

Turned out it was caused by the way I had the model done in 3D MAX, where I kept all edges (triangles) shown. You would ask why I’d do that, well, because I keep turning edges as I model the low poly version and I hate to have to guess where the edge that I want to be turned is.

Anyway, I found this great tutorial on how to redo the problem (I have no ideea if there is a simpler way, but it worked for me)

Thanks for the feedback… you guys were great !!! HUGS
I still have some small areas with problems, but Ill deal with most of those back in MAX tomorrow, because Im going to bed

CHEERS !

Jeez, you have talent man. Can’t wait to see your tutorial. Really nice demo reel! and great art on your web page, 10 thumbs up!

That is one terrific model!

lookin at your topology, you’ll have great deal of trouble working on the shoulder /pec area…the knees as well …you should clean thos parts before Zbrushing…you might have some trouble elswhere but those are the most obvious to me…
good luck

Hi there! I have been too busy like to work anymore on this, but yesterday i had a bit of spare time and i worked a bit on it, fixed some things, etc, still woooork to do but at least a small update…Hope to hear ur c&c, thanks guys!demonman_test.jpg

FUG metamesh, he just keeps gettin more realistic! fuggin cool azz

heyahey metamesh, that’s really cool :+1:

I have the same problem, it really causes ugliness when I try to apply a displacement map. I started the mesh in 3DS MAX, and it was UV/ textured in that application too .bad_tesselation.jpg

Very cool work metamesh

Metamesh, great sculpt from a low poly, lovely work. Would like to see a tutorial from you.

great work alex, sorry if this has been asked but are you fine skin details bump map based or alpha displaced geometry.

Great design, is he some sort of miniature person? Just because the size of those pencils :). Love the pose, real sense of weith and you knees are really well defined.
