Little rusty - super crunch time @ work. Todayās lunch crunch was only 40 mins. I was commissioned to do this piece⦠hah no I wasnāt.

Lunch crunch - Extended an hour
Haha! Oh god. When I saw this thumbnail in the main forum I was thinking, āWTF is that Honey Boo Boo?ā
Yes⦠yes it was.
thatās awesome! wouldāve liked to see her filthy teeth but it still great:)
LoL thanks guys - she has teeth? :o
Hey ZBC! Just got my new Replicator 2 and thought I would share my first test print with you all. Iāve got a bust printing on high-quality as we speak and canāt wait to show you what this machine is capable of! Take care!
Great good to see work here done on this machine⦠looking forward to more⦠Mine will be on my desk in January 2013ā¦

Iām wondering about the cost effectiveness of this printer. ie: At approx. 20.00/lb, how far will a 1lb spool of PLA filament go? The approx. 6x6x11 build volume is nice and the printer itself really isnāt that expensive at $2,200.00
Itās pretty decent for cost effectiveness @ roughly $0.46 per Ounce of PLA. Iāve tested a 3 inch bust with support material and it weighed in around 2.5 ounces - so $1.15 for the print excluding the cost of electricity (which is really low). So I could make around 14 3-inch busts with 1 spool of PLA material - not bad!
Iām really expecting to go through this whole spool of 1KG PLA material just testing out the various settings etc and tweaking it - so I would add that into your cost and order an extra spool as itās quite a bit of tuning when printing your own models.
Hi K-o-s!
Really like your models here and Iām really excited about the printer:) I hope you will share the finished bust when printed. I have been looking att a 3D printer for a long time now. Really interested in seeing how detailed the print kan get with this machine! canāt wait to see how it goes!
Peace
Hey ZBC,
I would like to share my first character bust print from my Replicator 2. I am pretty happy with the results! It stands 3.5" tall and took 6 hours to print on the default high quality settings. I look forward to going into the settings and tweaking it further for an even better result - for now epoxy touch upās should do just fine!
NINJA!!!, Yolandi next? Just saw Die Antwoord this month!
Nice, I would love to see them live. As for Yolandi, perhaps in the future. Right now, I am wanting to refine this bust and take it to a final stage with base. So it might be a while before you see Vi$$er
First crunch of 2013, took 2 separate lunch hours for this guy. Based off the ālower guardā from Dishonored.
Iāve been watching your Vimeo reels.
Quite incredible.
Have you done any vids/demos on the modeling process from start to finish on one of your stylized clean/hard surface characters?
(are they started in ZBrush?)
thanks
Thanks Nate, most of my models are roughed out in Zbrush so I can get an overall feel for the forms etc. I then retop them either in Maya or Topogun. I havenāt done any videos really as I know there are a few out there by far more advanced artists - I recommend checking out the video by The Gnomon Workshop - Stylized Character Modeling for Production with Alessandro Baldasseroni.
Iāll take a look.
thanks
Decided to just play around with todayās lunchtime sketch and give it an additional two hours. Just did whatever was on my mind.
I also livestreamed the process here: http://livestre.am/4iAuy
