Here is another piece that was finally wrapped up recently. This is a private commission based on a concept I had done for fun a few years back. It has been revised a bit from the original version, with an additional Jim Lee head.

These were a lot of fun, and terribly challenging to get right. Burton’s style is so different than anything else I’ve ever done… The forms, the surface texture, the structure and anatomy… Everything is intricately customized and unique.
I was lucky enough to get my hands on actual scans of the actual puppets for study but could not use them as they were outdated. These were sculpted from scratch using dynamesh.
I managed to find some pictures online as well of the actual products from this years SDCC. Will post more pics when I find them.

Beautiful work. So the photos of the colored vinyl sculptures, are those your sculpt printed, or what you used for reference?
If it’s the former, I just HAVE to ask: are you working for a company having you do these? I ask because printing for collectibles is what I’d like to do, as opposed to games or film like a lot of others.
