Khurram. H. Alavi - Sketches/Work Dump

Saw this Bowen statue on another website. Well done! I think you really captured the essence of the John Buscema drawing. :+1:

Great job ! Specially the Hulk , very nice

Thanks guys!
InkySpot & Cloudrid3r: Thank you! Getting the volumes right were a major challenge on this piece.

I envy you for getting your sculpts printed.

Thanks! I have to admit… Seeing the work printed, painted and bought is quiet the feeling :D.

I am blown away everytime I visit this epic forum!
Here is some work that I am able to share now.

Here is Savage Hulk. Production and photographs handled by Bowen Designs. I’ve included some turns of the digital file below.
Further below is Sunfire from the X-Men. This version is a classic.

Wow VERY nice. I love Bowen designs and all the work you have posted here is fantastic!

nice and very clean Work. Impressive!

this is why this forum is great ! because getting to ask people like you questions who show there work and are not just showoffs.

do use perspective in zbush when you are going to have somthing printed and if so what to you set it at?

Thanks so much Clintus Maximus!
Thanks Jagoro!

brian20: Thanks :D. I’ve never used perspective when sculpting for print. I would suggest sculpting in orthographic view for print, and using perspective(minimal settings) just to check the how the form will look if a photograph was taken.
I use perspective primarily for presenting WIP and final images to clients, but that too with low settings. Since Zbrush’s perspective controls are yet to be rectified, I usually use the default setting when you turn perspective on, or I go as a low as 15-20. This would cause severely distorted perspective in Maya, but in Zbrush its good enough.

thanks for the info, keep the updates comming!

So this one is finally done! It is a 1/4th Scale private commission that I am very excited to share with everyone.
It is a depiction of the character Akuma, from Street Fighter. There is an alternate head from the Manga comic as well.
I’ve included images of the final statue for both heads. Absolutely love the stitching and paint apps that were applied to the sculpt.
This is meant to be part of a diorama with Akuma facing off against Gouken!

Thanks Simon!

Great stuff!
How do you get these printed?

Thanks!
Try getting in touch with these guys… http://www.ownage.com/

This was an exceptionally challenging piece. Mainly because of the base design and the pose. To make it work from every angle was a painstaking process, and I’m glad to see this finally unveiled.
Produced by Pop Culture Shock Collectibles, and painted by the very talented Mike Najera!

Love ti! You did a great job!
Thanks for sharing!
