Jim Lee's Superman

Hey man…awesome stuff around here.

I really liked those renders…the light and materials are nice!

keep rocking!

Nice work man, i am digging your models.

great modelling and renders :+1:

Your Supes looks fantastic! For some reason, with most of the Superman sculpts I’ve seen, they tend to look too bulky, gruff, or too hard. More like a construction worker or something then Superman. Your Superman has just the perfect balance of strength, and grace to him. Great work!

I Love Your Superman Render!

Thanks very much for your support guys. It really is appreciated.

Ereneflor, glad someone recognised him.

Derek, totally what I was going for. :+1:

Oh yeah, just to note… I used Decimated models for these renders. No displacement or anything like that.

Thanks again.

Top notch work! I would love to see these textured and rendered. They hold so much realism as a sculpt, you could really take these to the next level. Amazing stuff. I admire your work.

Love your Superman. Just the right amount of muscularity. That’s just the way I picture the Man of Steel. Great job! :+1:

Woooooooooow, nice sculpt!!! Great work! :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

Nice renders:+1:

Hey great work. Ive recently been stuggling with rendering at high level, your lighting is fantastic tho. What lighting set up are you using, and what material is that? Thnks

Aberrant, I’m afraid the time for these to be fully textured and rendered is past. I started Superman earlier this year and now everyone has moved onto new projects. The momentum has been lost.

Doggy 7, I’m not the best person to ask for tips on lighting and rendering. I’m just learning myself. One tip I was given was to find an image/render I like and then try to copy it (lighting wise). Also, placing a sphere in the position with the material you are going to use is a very good way to see how the lights effect it as the reflection isn’t broken up be detail.

I’ve had a chance to play around with 3.5 R3 and I’m liking it muchly. Lots of small changes that bugged me about older version have been tweaked like the backface masking has been improved immensely.

This critter is for a project that is quite dark but I’ve taken it to this far for another project.

A tip for those who don’t know… while playing around I found out that when you hold down “ctrl” after you mouse-down with DragRect and then drag out, the alpa is locked to the normal direction of the initial point and doesn’t strech all over the place.

Feedback welcome. It’s my first dog so I’ve probably made lots of mistakes.
