Jesse Sandifer's Sketchbook

Hey nerveink. Glad you dug the arms  The pose was a bit hairy to me too when I first saw it. It comes from the in-house artist, Richard Tilbury, over at 3dtotal. This guy is up on a column in a huge architectural scene. It’s a bit awkward alone, but perhaps fits ok into the scene once it’s finished. Here’s the concept art I was provided by Richard:

I dont know… he looks like a James to me.
Great work Jesse. You might want to push back the buldges under the lower lip, but I think thats just a matter of taste.

Jesse,
Wow, this is great stuff! Your “Jerry” character would fit right into your gargoyle’s hallway. The sculpture really punches the concept art dead on. If you take these characters further please advise  .

More Bain: Here’s the textured and lit version done with polypaint and mental ray. I tried putting eyelashes on him but he looked kinda weird.

wow…the expression is really intense. great work

here’s the latest on my head bust of my wife. Based on a bunch of happy pics I have of her. I’m on to texturing now and will take it back into 3ds max and do some mental ray lighting after. Then hair!

more to come…

Great start man!

scary

Big guns: Thanks dude.

kishar: I’m not sure if you’re saying it’s scary good or scary bad…I think the next phase will help when I get some texture in there and add some soul to the eyes.

Here’s an update on my head study. I still need to work on the teeth more and to continue on with texturing, etc. More to come!

Oh, and here’s the reference image of my wife I’m using (along with a ton of others)…
