Ha, this is amazing! I know what you mean, I like to step back a bit from projects when I’m tired, then I come back later and it’s all fresh.
The hair is all PS?
cheers!

great render. how’d you do the drool?
Great sculpt/texture/render Jesse!
!
Very nice Jesse bro…Loving your works :).
Only two words: top row!
RegaRDsss
LeoAMD: thanks!
Whirlwind123: cool!
hyper1: hehe, or someone said something about his mama!
AgentEnigma: thanks!
Ville: there’s a base sculpting of hair geo underneath, but I didn’t want the hair to look like a squirt of toothpaste, so I painted on some softer hairs on top. Plus, it’s faster and more controllable for me to just paint them rather than do a 3D hair solution, whether that be spline-based or modeled.
monteford2002: thanks! the drool was just painted in lightly with white and a small brush in PS
DELTATHUND3R: thanks dude.
palafoxx: haha! I wish! Never been up there, but thanks…
you will be
nice final render
Thanks Disco Stu - I hope.
Well, looks like 2009 is coming to a close. It’s been a good one for me personally as I’ve pushed my skills and had a few personal projects going for most of the year. Thanks to all of you who have dropped in to comment and critique my work or just to lurk and see my latest efforts. I aim to make 2010 a big one as I’m continuing on with doing the zbrush/anatomy tutoring as well as attempting even more personal work that will continue to challenge my abilities. My first goal is to finish off my Jesus Christ model and maybe even make it my first model to be printed.
I hope all of you have the chance to continue to practice and grow in your artwork, too. Push yourselves and be sure to take some breaks during a project as well as in between big pieces. It really helps me to come back to something after a while (anywhere from a day to a couple weeks).
Oh yeah, and thanks to Pixologic making such an awesome product that lets me be creative and reallly enjoy the process at the same time.
Happy New Year! May God bless you all!
Here wishing you a Happy Creative New Year!I for one am looking forward to seeing how much further you can push yourself and inspire many including myself.Goodluck to you,cal
Here’s the progress on the Jesus model…not too much different but I have done more detail work to the hands and messed with the robe some too. Still need to work on that cross. That’s my next effort if I could just find some time. :\
I still may tweak the pose a bit too…
And here’s a character I sculpted for a Tron tribute animation done for the NBA Dallas Mavericks in-game entertainment. This is the non-textured version with the glow mask we used. New ZB3.5r3 brushes came in real handy on this one. Rendered in max/vray.
THIS IS SO EXCITING!!! Thank you for such beautiful work! I absolutely cannot wait to see the finished product!
Now that is really cool. Great Job
Hey jesse! the christ figure is coming along nicely and the Tron biker is looking very different from your other works. Keep it up!!! O yeah, best wishes for 20X.
Man, it’s been forever since I’ve updated. Had a loooong project at work to fight through…
I’ve been working on the cross portion of my Jesus sculpt. Yes my version of the cross has bark on it. I’ve got some good reference that I’m using and I like the look of it.
I also adjusted the hand positions a bit too. The only thing I have left now is the feet!
Wow this is really coming nicely. His expression is great.
Are you going be doing full texturing and v-ray rendering with him?
It’s just awesome. Wonderful detail throughout the model. Very inspiring, maestro
