Jesse Sandifer's Sketchbook

lol, you have a maori influence in your work… I must say I am surprised as I am part maori. I thought New Zealand was unknown to the world let alone the maori culture

to be honest with you man it looks like the poly painting washed out some of the details on your model in your last post. ( i seem to notice that a lot with poly painted models)

the max render however with all the characters is amazing. especially the guy on the ground with his head cut off. thats bad ass man keep it up!

Yeah thats looking way better.
Colour also looks good now.

Great work. Could you share you UI Color Scheme with us?

very nice work

Hexadecimator: Thanks to disco stu and his suggestion to use maori design. Kinda fun to paint that style! It’s very dramatic and a bit intimidating applied…

nerveink: I think a lot of the wash out came when I put a bit of bloom on the hot areas in PS. Plus, I did the AA half thing and that prolly makes it a bit blurred.

Disco Stu: thanks brutha!

Squidwatch: Sure! Color Scheme (save target as)

arunzb:  thx

Screaming guy is looking good glad u changed the tatoo. Please don’t edit your vids some of the stuff you think is uninteresting is the most informative.

Just finished my latest tutorial for 3DCreative. Full written tutorial w/images and video comes out in first week of July. www.3DCreative.com

The brief was to create a “mammal man” - a human/animal hybrid type thing which could have gone in any direction honestly. I decided to go with something kinda cow/deer and to do a pose where he’s a bit spooked. Them cows and deers have crazy eyes you know…

All polypainted, no texture maps. Comp created in Photoshop with multiple layers.

haha I really like his expression!

love the expression and pose :+1:

thanks magda and arunzb!

and here’s a quick shot with no textures. NickZ’s MatCap Gray mat.

ok, I couldn’t help myself but to bring this guy over to max and render him out with mental ray. Probably would be a bit stronger if I did real fur but hey this was for fun!
mman04.jpg

hahahaaha funny
good job!

This is so well done I think it has a bit of that " Uncanny Valley " feel to it. The 2nd render has a much better range of colours. Would it take much to fur it, I don’t know I’ve never tried fur…

P.S. Thanks again for the Gargoyle vid. I’m onto my 3rd watching of that. I’m struggling with what order and volume, to lay muscles in, so you get the correct overlaps and the muscle size and definition. Your video is helping heaps

Just finished this for the Threedy Speed Sculpting Challenge - Biomechanical Hybrid. My first real experience with hard surfacing modeling in ZB.

Really nice work …
the mechanical hybrid looks nice…
but i really love the mammal man…it rocks…

8 hours is rough, but you’ve used the time well. I got this horrible vision of a big cable inserting into his butt plug

Nice work dude! The mammal man looks cool. I love his expression. Biomech looks awesome too! :+1:

We can’t stop you !
