you drew your proportions grid out - but you’re not using it as far as i can tell.

A mistake I also make is to overly define the abs - on a heroic male character that is forgivable, but on a female character it just looks weird. Females generally have more lower torso fat that would cover such up or at least ‘blur’ it a bit. i don’t mean to harsh you but there are literally too many errors to address in writing. the eyes are way to visible in the side view - probably because they are far to wide.

stay with the Ryan Kingslien info he’ll set you right.

copying classical statues where another artist has already simplified and abstracted the forms helps me tremendously. check out the torso on any Greek female statue and compare it to your’s and you’ll see what i mean. good luck!

hey guys just had some inspiration and thought lets sculpt a bit,
i was planning just to put down my ideas but it actually went a lil to far but ok illk finish my normal work a little late today i guess,

I would suggest tilting her upper body back a little, it looks like she is going to fall over.

the new one is looking a lot better. thumbs up. ditto on leaning the torso back a bit. keep trucking!

hey guys thnx for the feedback,
heres an update posed her and added some background still a wip for so far.

Although most of your stuff looks great and you’re obviously making great progress, don’t try to push yourself into the “speedsculpt” frame of mind too soon. I did that when I began using Zbrush, simply thing if I couldn’t get it done in an hour or two I didn’t want to do it. Try not to make the mistakes I made by rushing things. Now I actually enjoy working on a model for a day or two and if it doesn’t work out the way I thought it would, I don’t feel I’ve wasted my time. I feel like I’m learning more on every sculpt I do, and my friends here on ZBC tell me I’m definitely improving with every piece. I really have gotten to the point where I feel a little sad when I do finish something that I enjoyed working on. Many times I go back and tweak projects after I’ve learned something new using my new knowledge.

In short(wayyy too late, I know :D) don’t fall into that trap of the speedsculpt. I know a lot of artists that do produce great sculpts but they’re the real proes. Don’t time limit yourself until you really feel it will help you sculpt better. Leave the speedsculping to the guys under a deadline:D!

hey guys, i was watching some youtube tutorails and thought lemme try this , so nguiyen thnx for th tutorial it was verry helpfull

Head anatomy looks wrong. No offense, just trying to help  I’m still learning too. Nose lack indication of Alar cartilage and too thin. Can’t see glabella affecting the brows. Eyelids definitely doesn’t look like that at all. Ear’s anti helix needs to extend out of helix. Nasolobial fold can use some work. Zygomatic bones and process planes looks wrong among other things.
Basically, you need a good tutorial on human head anatomy. I can’t stress enough how i recommend book and dvd called “Scott Spencer - Zbrush Digital Sculpting Human Anatomy”. Pdf is 419 pages long, and it’s so awesome.

hey greatluffy thnx for the tips still learning here

this is a new bust i just did its all dynamesh…think im making some greaat progress, orderd scott eatons book to help me some more

hey guys i just got my book delivered and started working the steps, just had to take a brake and try this on a female sculpt.
so here are some screen shots for now. took a sphere, entered dynamesh and strechted it in th form of the torso, added limbs by using the curve tube brush, dynameshed it all, added hands with insert brush for the basic shape, re-dynameshed it, made the basic forms, and left dynamesh for now, added 1 subdivision and started to refine the basic shapes.

feels ok for now still wip so any crits are welcome greetz jacked

DYNAFEMALE01.jpg

You went wrong with proportions. Check them out again with references - e. g. the border of breasts of your model is whre nipples should be, knees are too high, feets are very small etc.

I think you went a bit too fast. You need to carefully study your references.

thnx nebular,
heres an update think proportions are ok for now
proportions.jpg

here s an update think the proportions are better now
proportions.jpg

Better now but still you’re missing things. The knees are too high and she looks very thin. Making her widther
should add more realism.

Check these two pictures:

Take a look at the measurements both in height and width separatelly for every body part.

I know by me that even if you know about these things or know where to look for them (always keep references close)
it’s easy to go with the flow with too much haste and forget about basics. Proportions and anatomi is the basic
Always check your measurements because you can loose that while sculpting and noticing that isn’t easy just with
own eye.

thnx for the tips nebular heres another update.
